Adapt GM/Chevy T-5 transmission to 1932-48 Ford or 1939-50 Mercury engines. Allows use of your early Ford clutch release shaft and fork.

Kit includes aluminum adapter, original Flathead style release bearing, adapter sleeves, and ball-bearing type pilot bearing.

Installation Notes (PDF)

  1. This adapter contains four 1/2"-20 threaded holes to mount the transmission case to the adapter. The bolt sizes on a T-5 transmission case are not consistant. In order for your T-5 to work with this adapter, you may be required to enlarge the four bolt holes in the case of your transmission so that they accept 1/2"-20 bolts.
  2. A return spring tab (normally found on an original Flathead transmission) is not included.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Sleeves are press fit.Transmission mounting holes need to be drilled to clear 1/2 " bolts. I had to cut 1/2" off input shaft to get it all together

Q:

will this adapter work with the 49 and up truck bell housing that bolts to the block? They appear to be very similar, I have heard that it is the old style bolt pattern on the transmission side of the bell housing but I could be mistaken. I am new to the Flathead community and any info you have would be great. Thanks for your time
