What's in the Box

Info

These Speedway spindles are a one piece, drop forged design constructed of high strength 4140 steel, which makes them superior to original components. These spindles are modeled after the '37-'41 round-back design and use '37-'41 Ford kingpins. They  fit Ford axles from '28-'48 and can be used with period correct drum brakes or modern Speedway Motors disc brakes, but will not work with hubs from '28-'36.

  • Uses 1937-1941 kingpin kit
  • For Ford axles 1928-1948
  • Will not work with 1928-1936 Hubs

Be sure to include our kingpin kit (91032121) with these spindles.

Spindles also available in kit form with Standard or Deluxe kingpins.

Application

Ford-style spindles are generally your best choice when using an original Ford axle or an aftermarket I-beam axle. This spindle is a reproduction version of the 1937-41 spindle.  Ford used the same king pin dimensions and geometry on the 1928-48 axles, therefore you can use any 1937-48 Ford spindle on any 1928-48 car axle.

Part # 91032104 These spindles work only on the 1928-48 Ford passenger car axles. The axle boss dimensions and camber angle is different on the 52 Ford pickup.

Part # 91032104 These spindles and king pins will go right on your 1934 Ford front axle. Main thing of concern is the bolt pattern for the steering arms and related components. Bolt pattern of the 4 bolt holes for the backing plates and steering arms is 3 1/16” center to center on the 29-36 spindles and 3 3/8” on the 37 thru 49. The new aftermarket spindles are the later 3 3/8” pattern. If wanting a stock replacement you may want to check with a restoration supplier for availability.

I have a 1940 ford pickup axle that i plan on using to build my street rod and I'm wondering if there's a difference in car and pickup spindle sizes? Thanks

For a 1940 Ford F1 (1/2 ton only), the spindles are the same as the passenger car spindles. If you have a factory F1 spindle, it will go on any axle that our 28-48 Ford spindles will take, and our spindles would fit your axle. This does not apply to anything bigger than a 1/2 ton pickup.

No, You need to order the spindles with the bushings installed and with kingpins fitted. Different part number. I suggest the Super bell spindles. Due to the better location of the Grease zerks

Part #91632104 does not have bushing installed. We do offer part #91032104 that includes spindles, kingpins and kingpins fit to spindle

The passenger car spindles and half ton pickup share the king pin size of .813 diameter and 5.5" long. The axle boss for the kingpin is 2 1/4" tall and would be the only place that may be different on the 1 ton axle. Otherwise yes the spindles we offer under 91032104 will fit the axle.
