Where is the TDC mark? I understand that Chevy balancers changed the location a couple times, depending on year (pre-/post 1969).

As you can see in the picture the TDC mark is just slightly offset from the crank keyway. I believe this is the pre-1969 location but you will want to compare that location to yours. We highly recommend checking your true top dead center location after installing any balance to make sure your timing pointer is correct. It is very common for balancers to vary a few degrees.

What single groove crankshaft pulley will match this balancer to my short water pump? I need a part recommendation for a single groove crank pulley that is compatible with the short water pump on the 350 SBC. The old damaged pulley is approximately 6 and 9/16" in diameter and 1.7" in depth. The depth does not appear to be a standard for either a short or a long water pump. Is there a Speedway part no.? Please advise.

We offer a single groove pulley for standard short water pumps which is part number 91015422 and it is 1.35" depth. If your 1975 engine has the stock water pump and pulleys then it is more than likely a Corvette engine. The Corvette in that era had an odd length water pump that was just a little longer than the standard "short water pump" for a small block Chevy. You will need to get the specific replacement for it in order to keep belt alignment correct. A Corvette restoration company may be your best bet for finding a replacement pulley.

This is a stock replacement 6.75" balancer. The weight of it will be nearly identical to stock. I list it as approximately 8.5 lbs.

I have always been told if you use a small block balancer on a 1963 409 the timing can not be set right Thanks Bob

If you degree the cam and make a mark where you need it to be it will work just fine. The timing tab may not line up perfectly however as you might know 409 parts are scarce and these can work fine with some understanding as it gets put together
