This item will need a switch or sensor to activate it (perhaps our 910-64014) which should be protected by a relay (such as 910-64044). You could get a temperature switch and relay combination in our 910-64028. We even offer a fan controller that works off your existing temperature gauge sender. That is part number 910-64023. So you see we have several paths to choose from, simple to trick. There are instructions with each of these sensors to guide you in their installation and hookup. Mounting the fan and shroud is somewhat self explanatory, but we can offer you suggestions for that as well if you cannot devise a method of your own.
