If you’re looking for a complete third member for your Ford 9-inch rear end housing, but want the added performance of a limited slip differential, Speedway Motors now offers you a 9" Ford street 3rd member for your street rod. We start with reclaimed, genuine Ford 9-inch carrier housings and then clean and inspect them prior to installing all-new bearings, seals, a 1310-series yoke, and your choice of ring-and-pinion gears. The 1310-series yoke is the correct size for many Ford applications with cups 1-1/16 inch in outside diameter and a span of 3-7/32 inch across.
These Ford 9 inch third member assemblies feature a Richmond Powertrax Grip Pro differential available in 28 or 31 spline axle shaft configurations. This clutch-type differential is perfect for light-to-medium weight street vehicles where one wants posi-action and long clutch life, without the adverse handling effects or noise of a full locker. When coasting around turns, the clutches are disengaged to extend clutch life. When accelerating in a straight line on dry pavement, the clutches engage, sending equal power to both wheels for maximum traction. Original Flathead water pumps have always suffered from unreliable bronze bushings and carbon seals. They almost always leaked and even Ford manuals warned mechanics not to tighten fan belts too tight. The excess slack allowed belts to slip and lose contact with the generator and water pump pulleys, causing more cooling and power problems.
Speedways completely new water pumps feature severe-duty roller and ball bearings, close tolerances and modular impellers to provide maximum flow and reduce cavitation. They also have modern ceramic seals on a heavy duty 3/4" shaft, making the assembly exceptionally strong and more efficient.

If you have ever wanted a 1932 Roadster but don't like the cramped cockpit, Speedway has the answer! We started with a clean slate and no expense was spared in the development of this classic street rod. By stretching the frame and adding 2" to the length of the doors, you are able to get in and out of the car much easier. Also by moving the seating position back 2", you have much more leg room and a smoother ride than an original 1932 Ford.
The custom 106" wheelbase chassis is a unique tubular design that channels the body over the frame rails and includes the front and rear crossmembers, center K-member, and rear Panhard bar frame mount (installed). Also installed on this frame are the headlight mounts, front upper shock mounts, front radius rod mounts, and front spring mounts.

These bearings have a .757" ID to slip over your 3/4" steering shaft and are in a lightweight aluminum bracket to allow easy installation of your firewall.
From center of bearing to center of mounting hole is 1.456" or approximately 1-1/2". This produces about a 3" mounting circle for the 3 mounting holes.
