    IMCA's 2004 rules now allow the stock car class to use spec tubular upper control arms. The stock arms are getting hard to find and don't have the strength of the tubular design. Bolts to your stock mount and accepts stock ball joints.  This control arm is going to have a 1/4" thick plate where the ball joint bolts in.  Mid-size GM metric only.

    • Tube diameter is 1"
    • Wall thickness is 0.092

    Steel cross shaft.  Available for right (passenger side) or left (drivers side).

    Right arm length is 8". Left arm length is 8.5". Cross shaft spacing center to center is 6-7/8".

                This upper control arm for 1970-1981 Camaro is designed to be used with the stock mount. Available in 8", 8-1/4", 8-1/2", 8-3/4", 9", 9-1/4", 9-1/2". This control arm requires the use of a K6024-style ball joint, which is equivalent a 1963-’71 Chevy pickup style upper ball joint. It will have a 7 degree tapered stud and therefore, the stock Camaro spindle must be reamed to fit the pickup ball joint.

    Cross shaft mount bolts center on center. Measures 7-3/4". The arms are symmetrical.

    Note: This control arm does not use a stock Camaro ball joint, (all) of the ball joints that we offer require reaming stock spindle.

    Note: Our "length" reference refers to the distance from the center of the ball joint to the centerline of the cross shaft. The "stock" length of a Camaro upper A-arm is 9-1/4".

    These 4130 chromoly metric upper control arms are 40% stronger than standard control arms. They bolt to a stock mount and use the bolts in ball joints. Steel cross shaft.  This control arm is going to have a 1/4" thick plate where the ball joint bolts in.

    Right arm is 8.0" long. Left arm is 8.5" long.

    AFCO Low Friction Ball Joints are designed with 2 ft. lbs. of resistance, the force required to move the stud of the ball joint.  Compare this with standard replacement joints, with as high as 50 ft. lbs. of resistance.  A difference you can feel!  It is critical to handling that suspension components be as free as possible to move.  Low friction ball joints allow the suspension to give rather than allowing the tire to bounce over rough surfaces.  Low tire pressures magnify the need to minimize friction in the suspension.

    • Precision machined to tight tolerances, providing consistent resistance throughout the travel of the ball joint to deliver consistent performance

    You don't have to look any farther for tubular control arms for your hot rod. Tubular control arms give your hot rod a much cleaner and hi-tech appearance than the stock stamped steel arms. Made from full .120 wall tubing, fixture welded and features screw-in ball joints and no-squeak bushings. Will work with nearly any stock or aftermarket crossmember.

    Replaces 1974-80 Pinto, Bobcat and 1974-78 Mustang II control arms. These control arms are 5/8" narrower than stock, which means that they will reduce front track width by 5/8" per side (or 1-1/4" overall) when compared to a stock width control arm. This helps tuck the wheels up under the fenders without having to buy expensive special offset wheels. When using 5/8" narrower control arms, 1" must be removed from each inner tie rod end.
