    These tie rod/drag link kits are pre-cut and tapped lengths of 7/8" O.D. tubing available in multiple lengths. Each kit comes complete with 5/8" heim joint rod ends and jam nuts. Tubing will be tapped with right-hand & left-hand threads for adjustability.

    Select your length based on the center-to-center of the heim rod ends, which will also be the eye-to-eye distance between the steering arms (the acutal tube will be 3" shorter than length selected). At selected length, the link will be adjustable from 1/4" shorter to 1/2" longer.

    Normally used with '49-'54 Chevy style spindles and flat steel steering arms. Can be used with stock type Ford arms if drilled out to 5/8".

    Inner tie rod end for an IMCA Modified race car application based off of a 1978-up Metric GM chassis configuration.

    Note:   Tie rod end has the grease zerk on the back of the tie rod end and not on the end as an inner tie rod end would utilize.  This is not a replacement for a Moog type ES2034RL.  

    Please note the available inner tie rod end #s 910-2034 or 106-30221 noted below when the inner tie rod with a grease zerk in the end is required for an o/e type replacement for the 1978-up GM Metric application.

    If you are building a hot rod just a little bit different than the next guy, you will probably need a special length tie rod or drag link sleeve. We stock many common and uncommon lengths along with custom, made-to-order lengths. Measurements are in assembled eye-to-eye lengths.

    To order:

    1. Use guide below to measure your finished length.
    2. The part number and length you order will be 3" longer than the sleeve you receive. (I.E., if you order a 48" part number, you will receive a 45" long sleeve.) This is the difference in length required to give you the correct finished center-to-center measurement.
    3. All sleeves will have internal RH thread in one end and LH thread in the other.

    Our dropped axles for your classic Ford F1 pickup will get the front end down where you want it. The center portion of the axle is made of 2" DOM tubing while the ends are CNC milled from solid steel. These axles give you 2" of drop on the '57-'60 chassis. Tie rod drops required, U-bolts sold separately.

    If using this axle in conjunction with drop springs, you may encounter bump steer or tie rod issues.

    • This provides 3"drop compared to the stock 53-56 axle, it provides
      2"drop compared to the 57-60 axle.
    • Dropped tie-rod ends 910 48640 may be required to provide tie-rod to spring
      clearance.
    • If you are also using dropped springs, they may need to modify the
      drag link / pitman arm to avoid bump steer.
    • Kingpin center to center = 53 3/4"
    • Spring pad center to center = 32 3/4"
    • Axle will provide a camber reading of -1.6 degrees

    To get that traditional look you need to have split wishbones. This kit allows you to weld up your own split bones and includes 11/16" weld-in bungs for the wishbones, jam nuts and 11/16" tie rod ends.

    These forged steel steering arms will attach to all 1937-48 Ford spindles but their greater drop, 3-3/4" from spindle mount holes means they work best on 1935-48 Ford cars (with spring-over front axle). Clears most radius rods and wishbones. These steering arms accept 11/16" Ford 7 degree "tapered" tie rod ends (both the top and bottom are tapered to allow tie rods to mount above or below arm as needed). You can drill-through with a 5/8" bit to use spherical rod ends.

    Use a 46" eye-to-eye tie rod link when used with a 48" wide axle with Ford spindles.

    These 1-3/4" drop forged steel steering arms are popular on Model T - 1934 Fords with 4" dropped axles and four-bar or hairpin radius rod suspensions. Will attach to '37-'48 Ford spindles and accept 11/16" Ford "tapered" tie rod ends (both the top and bottom are tapered to allow tie rods to mount above or below arm as needed). You can drill-through with a 5/8" bit to use spherical rod ends.

    Use a 46" eye-to-eye tie rod link when used with a 48" wide axle with Ford spindles.

If that steering arm has only one hole, you'll need to build the tie rod with this tie rod end on the RH side. Then the drag link attaches to the eyelet (which is tapered 1/2 way from both sides.)

                This is a great new concept for street rods with tubular or I-beam axles. It's hard to visualize how this works, but it's the hottest new idea out there! 

    Designed to replace the common Vega steering box, this rack and pinion assembly has a long passenger-side tie rod that hooks up to the spindle like a Vega-style drag link. The rack unit is mounted on a sturdy bracket that bolts to your existing Vega box mount. The rack mounts much lower and farther forward than a box to provide more clearance, and those who have installed the system report quicker steering response and easier effort than a steering box.

    The racks have 9/16" 26-spline shafts and the extension shafts are 5/8" 36-spline, just like a Vega box. Plus, our steering shaft extension 910-32244 allows you to reuse your existing steering U-joints and shafts when replacing your Vega box.

    Specify 11/16" or 5/8" tie rod thread. The 5/8" is used with a LH heim joint, 11/16" is used with a LH tie rod end. Outer tie rod and jam nut not included.

    If you are using heim ends, you may wish to order heim 175-0316 and jam nut 910-01056. If using tie rod ends, you may wish to order tie rod end 910-02919 and jam nut 910-01159.

                In the IMCA modified class it's approved to use 5/8" rod ends instead of original outer tie rod ends. When used with the adapter stud listed, this set-up allows you to easily adjust the steering geometry. Includes inner tie rod, steel adjusting sleeve, 5/8" rod end and jam nuts. 

    Rods available in 17-1/2", 18-1/2", 19-1/2", 20-1/2" and 21-1/2" center to center.

    5/8" steel tube replacements available in 9", 10", 11", 12" and 13".

    Improved geometry drag link relocates the inner tie rod end to shorten both tie rod assemblies, which improves steering geometry by reducing the excessive toe out that is common to GM Metric chassis during normal suspension travel (bump steer).

    As you know when running a dropped axle on your Ford truck, the tie rod sleeve can hit the springs. The 1-1/2" drop moves the tie rod out of the way far enough to clear the springs.

    • 7 Degree Taper
    • 1-1/2" of drop
    • 8"length end to end
    • 2-1/2" of 11/16"-18 thread
    • When used w/ tube # 91634-42.5 produces an eye to eye assembly of 49.5" length minimum and 51" length maximum
