    If you have power steering on your car and it has too much assist or a 'twitchy' feel to it you may have too much pressure to the rack or box. 

    This nifty valve allows you to adjust the pressure and get the road feel you want. It has a 1/4" npt inlet and outlet for the pressure line, and a 3/8" npt inlet and outlet for the return line. 

    Both pressure and return line need to be plumbed into this valve.

    It is common to use an early GM power steering pump with a Mustang II power rack and pinion. Most who have tried it have found that the steering was twitchy or that it easily darts. This valve reduces the fluid flow from three gallons-per-minute to two gallons-per-minute, which cures the problem. For applications using the O-ring style power steering hoses. Installs in the back side of the pump as shown in the extra photos.

    If converting pump from modern 16mm o-ring to traditional 5/8" inverted flare style hoses, order (1) Adapter Insert 910-32921.

                So your car has the original power steering which is a valve on the end of the centerlink. Problem is they never did work right and made switching to a newer steering box a pain. To fix your problem you just unscrew the original power steering valve off the centerlink, screw this gizmo back on and now you can add a new 605 style power steering box and still use your original power steering centerlink. Neat huh.

                It is common to use an early GM power steering pump with a Mustang II power rack and pinion. Our Mustang II/GM pump power steering hose assemblies are an inexpensive alternative to  the more costly stainless steel braided hose kits. The return hose included in this kit will  normally need to be cut to length.

    This has an adapter to allow it to work with both metric O-ring and standard inverted flare threads on the power steering pump fitting.

    This will work with the 1974-78 Mustang II power rack and pinion in conjunction with the suggested power steering pumps 910-32922-FORD and 910-32908-BLK. When using an early GM pump with Mustang II rack, you will also need flow reducer valve 910-32918. This valve reduces the fluid flow from three gallons-per-minute to two gallons-per-minute, which cures problems of twitchy steering when these components are used together.

    These power steering pressure hoses from Gates are authentic reproductions of the originals. They work on 1967-70 Mustang applications and include fittings already assembled.

    1967-70 Mustang power steering hose kit has a pressure line for inverted flare fittings.  Large female inverted flare is 5/8 x 18 IFF and the smaller end is ½ x 20 inverted flare male.  There is also an adapter to reduce the smaller end from ½ x 20 to 3/8 x 24 IFM.
