Many sprint cars use a fuel pump, power steering, or dry sump oil pump mounted to the rear of the engine which is driven off of the back of the camshaft. This requires that the cam be drilled and tapped for the drive spud. Our flat tappet cams DO NOT have this modification. (Our roller cams already have this modification incorporated when manufactured.)

    If you are running a sprint or modified that uses a rear cam accessory drive and your local rules dictate that you run a flat tappet cam, you will have to take the cam to a competent machinist and have it drilled and tapped for the drive spud.

    These "small base circle" cams are custom ground to our specs by Comp Cams. They feature extra an extra machining process to clearance the lobes so they do not contact the connecting rods on stroker motors. Always test-assemble your engine combination and verify clearance between the connecting rods and the rest of the engine.

The CNC-machined billet aluminum housing, stainless steel shaft with bearings top and bottom has proven to be 100% dependable in racing environments.     COMP Cams­® 26975 springs provide increased control and durability for GM crate circle track applications as well as a variety of Small Block Chevy/Small Block Ford engines. They are designed as a performance upgrade over stock springs for higher RPM applications. Made from a high-tensile strength chrome silicon steel, the #26975 Valve Springs feature a much higher life expectancy than tool steel springs. State-of-the-art grinding and finishing processes, along with added micro peening, also increase durability. In addition to street use, these springs are also a perfect choice for GM 604 crate engines running in stock or modified circle track divisions.

    These camshaft / lifter kits are perfect for use with BBC 454 to 470 CID with Air Flow Research 265 or 290 Oval Port heads to max of 6000 rpm. If you have built your teenage dream car and put AFR oval ports on it than there is no doubt this is the cam for you. We recommend a high rise dual plane with the center notched. An 850HP carb would be our choice with a good set of 13/4" headers. Don't worry about gear ratio, it will pull anything you put under it. Great with power brakes. Buy stock in tires. 750 RPM Idle.
