    Note:  This kit splits the wishbone leaving it mounted in the same general area while allowing for the modern transmission and cushion to mount and have clearance for the tail shaft of common automatic transmissions such as the 350 Turbo. In some cases slotting the plate may be necessary for your personal preference.

    Header Dimensions (GIF) 

    Application Note: These headers won't fit most Model T's or Model A's due to narrow the frame width, particularly on the passenger side. 1948-52 Ford F1 (1/2 ton) pick-ups will have interference with one bolt on the stock steering box. That bolt can usually be modified so that the headers can be used. The headers will not work in 3/4 ton or larger trucks from 1948-52. Most 1942-48 Mercury cars will require shimming of the motor mount for steering clearance.

                Original Flathead water pumps have always suffered from unreliable bronze bushings and carbon seals. They almost always leaked and even Ford manuals warned mechanics not to tighten fan belts too tight. The excess slack allowed belts to slip and lose contact with the generator and water pump pulleys, causing more cooling and power problems. 

    Speedway's completely new water pumps feature severe-duty roller and ball bearings, close tolerances and modular impellers to provide maximum flow and reduce cavitation. They also have modern ceramic seals on a heavy duty 5/8" shaft, making the assembly exceptionally strong and more efficient. All mounting areas are spot faced for improved fit and sealing.

                By removing a portion of the original crossmember and installing this kit you can improve your 1937-1940 Ford in 3 ways: 
    • increase chassis strength
    • make room for a modern transmission
    • provide a mount for a Turbo 350 or TH350 transmission

    After trimming your original wishbone and welding in new ends (easily accomplished off the car), the rest of the kit bolts right in.

    The studs on the Ford C4 or Ford C6 tranny mount are 10mm x 1.5 thread. It is a standard replacement mount that fits most Fords and is not uncommon, as metric fasteners have been used on domestic vehicles for over 25 years. For Ford C4 and Ford C6 application.

    The slots in the crossmember will require a little grinding to use this mount.

    The superior coil resistance of the Classic Pulse Signal Generator delivers a clean, sharp pulse. These Generators are available with a choice of fittings to connect directly to most metric, GMC, Ford (from the early torque-tube type speedometer drives to the latest electronic automatic overdrives), and some Chrysler transmissions.

    This is a very handy item! This adapter will allow the use a GM-style speedo sender with a 1957-later Ford transmission. Many aftermarket gauge sets come with a GM-style speedo sender. With this adapter,the customer can avoid the purchase of a "Ford" speedo sender.

    These Speed Sensors will usually have sufficient clearance to allow mounting directly on to the cable takeoff of the stock transmission or onto the closed-torque-tube of early Fords. Using this type of sensor can eliminate completely the older flexible mechanical cable.

    This unit will generate the 8-pulse per revolution ( 8,000 pulses per mile ) signal required to correctly operate your Classic Speedometer.
