This gear fits on the rear of the camshaft and drives the oil pump. It's designed to fit 1949-1953 engines with D-shaped cam snouts, but can also be used on 1932-1948 style engines by modifying the cam's rear snout.

    Most flathead replacement camshafts don’t come with the distributor drive gear. Don’t forget to get one! Speedway recommends that you replace your front distributor gear and rear oil pump gear at the same time.

    Note: This starter now features a new style ratchet bendix drive. If you extend the drive by hand which is easy to do it will not go back in.  It
    takes the torque of the motor to spin the bendix back.  You can install the starter with the bendix engaged in the flywheel.  When you start the engine it will spin the bendix back in to the non-engaged position.

    Adapt your 1949-1953 Ford Flathead V8 engine to a modern Ford AOD automatic overdrive transmission so you can keep those stump-pulling low rear end gears, while still maintaining engine life and gas mileage. Plus, the lightweight flexplate and torque converter do wonders for throttle response and stop-and-go driving!

    This kit includes Speedway's Street King AOD Ford transmission compltely remanufactured with heavy duty clutches, special shift kit, torque converter, engine adapter, special flexplate, modified 12-volt starter, hardware and instructions.

    Transmission has a one year warranty.
