    Speedway Motors is your Flathead Ford specialist! We've got you covered down to the smallest components, like this replacement oil pump drive gear. This gear fits on the rear of the camshaft and drives the oil pump. It's designed to fit 1949-1953 engines with D-shaped cam snouts, but can also be used on 1932-1948 style engines by modifying the cam's rear snout.

    This gear attaches to the base of the distributor shaft on 1949-53 Ford V8's. Replace your worn, damaged or missing original gear with this top quality new one! Roll pin not included (reuse original pin).

    Note: We recommend you replace the cam gear and distributor drive gear at the same time.

    Most flathead replacement camshafts don’t come with the distributor drive gear. Don’t forget to get one! Speedway recommends that you replace your front distributor gear and rear oil pump gear at the same time.

    • For use on 1949-1953 flathead Fords that retain the original front drive distributor

    Sometimes we want to mix and match parts different than Henry planned. These spacers allow you to swap distributors around on your flathead. This adaptor fits most aftermarket performance cams. In some cases, earlier stock engines may have a "shallow-nose" camshaft. If that is the case, the drive tang on the distributor will not contact the slot in the cam and the distributor will spin freely after installation. Should this occur, you will need to purchase a cam button spacer such as Speedway # 910-12710.

    Small Block Ford MSD bronze distributor gears are machined from quality AMPCO 45 aluminum bronze containing 5% nickel. This special com­bination creates high-strength gear teeth that are less prone to wear, even with high-volume oil pumps.

                If you run early heads on a late-model Flathead, you won't have a way to clamp the distributor down – until now. This cast aluminum timing cover has a distributor clamp built in. It can also be used as a replacement on 1949-1953 engines, or on 1948 and earlier engines running a 1949-1953 cam.
