These exposed small block Chevy headers work great on rods without hoods, but we’ve also seen them peeking through carefully trimmed hood sides. Each lakester header has a flange so you can connect it to a muffled under-car exhaust when the end plate is on.
    • Fits 265-400 c.i. with standard or Vortec heads including D-port ZZ-4 style heads (not LT-1)
    • 1-5/8" primary
    • Includes flange to connect 2” exhaust pipe
    • Removable end plates allow you to run open headers with ease
    • Includes gaskets and mounting hardware

    NOTE: Turn-outs NOT included. Headers come with end plates, but the turn outs are sold separately.

    All balancing is done with our state-of-the-art Hines balancer by race mechanics with over 30 years of experience!  A kit purchased with the optional balance job will ship in 24-48 hours.

    Stainless header tubing, when exposed to exhaust temperature, will cause the finish to change color which will vary with the exhaust temperature. Please note that the finish of the header, when the engine is started, will change to a light champagne color or a darker gold finish, and in some instances, may even turn dark blue or purple. These colors can be polished out using Blue-Away or Simi-Chrome polish, but please note that when the headers reach running temperature again, they will immediately change color.

    If you are using 1992-and-later LT4 style D-port heads in your street rod, these tight-fit headers are for you. The tight-fit design fits in a wide variety of applications, and the shorty headers have built-in OEM-style donut seals on the collectors so no gaskets or collector reducers are needed.

    • 3/8” thick flanges w/ oval 1.29" x 1.67" port configuration
    • Header bolts and exhaust gaskets are included
