    Speedway Motors has all the parts you need to rebuild your Flathead Ford V8, including these high quality aluminum bi-metal rod bearings. Precision built to the high standards demanded by today's rodders and restorers, these insert-style bearings are available in standard size, .010", .020", or .030" undersize.

    •  Tolerance Control: ± .0001" vs. the competitions' ± .00025"
    • Superior Embedability: Material is much thicker than Babbitt overlays (.012" vs. .0008"). This provides greater macro-particle (> .0004" diameter) embedability. Macro particles are most responsible for scratching  crank journals & tearing/weakening babbitt overlays.
    • Temperature Threshold: Bi-metal withstands 662° F (350° C) compared to tri-metal 365° F (185° C). Affords greater protection against localized overheating due to misalignment, detonation, overloading, loss of coolant, etc.
    • Conformability: Minimum depth of .012" enables greater adjustment to bore or journal misalignment without causing bearing failure or journal damage.

    Original Flathead pistons used four rings, were somewhat round, had questionable wrist pins and locks and were made of cast iron. These pressure-cast aluminum pistons share the four-ring design, but are cam ground and use modern steel wrist pins and real snap rings. They’re a great upgrade when rebuilding your 1939-1953 flathead Ford or Mercury V8 engine.

    The original bore size was 3.188", which makes these .060" oversize. Sold in sets of eight.

                If you run early heads on a late-model Flathead, you won't have a way to clamp the distributor down – until now. This cast aluminum timing cover has a distributor clamp built in. It can also be used as a replacement on 1949-1953 engines, or on 1948 and earlier engines running a 1949-1953 cam.

    Said to be its most popular flathead intake, Offenhauser’s 2x2 Regular intake has closely spaced carbs. The Offy regular dual intake accepts two 3-bolt carbs. Great addition to a street oriented engine. Has 4-3/4" carb centers.

    The generator may not fit into the stock location due to the clearance issue with the carburetor.  The generator can be relocated to the passenger side using bracket # 325-1146. If using a GM alternator, use our chrome 916-67909 or plain 916-67910 bracket.

    Original Flathead water pumps have always suffered from unreliable bronze bushings and carbon seals. They almost always leaked and even Ford manuals warned mechanics not to tighten fan belts too tight. The excess slack allowed belts to slip and lose contact with the generator and water pump pulleys, causing more cooling and power problems.

    Speedway's completely new water pumps feature severe-duty roller and ball bearings, close tolerances and modular impellers to provide maximum flow and reduce cavitation. They also have modern ceramic seals on a heavy duty 5/8" shaft, making the assembly exceptionally strong and more efficient.

    Works with 5/8" belts. Includes mount gaskets.

                Speedway Motors offers this billet aluminum electronic distributor for the fabulous '32-'41 Flathead Ford V8 with the 3-bolt mount. This distributor is a "ready-to-run" unit that does not require a control box. 

    We suggest a 12v coil 447-45001 (chrome) or 447-45011 (black) to be used with this distributor. We also suggest our spark plug wire set 910-64200.

The outer end of these Grade 8 studs have fine threads and with the hardened washers (included) which prevent galling and ensure accurate torque readings.

    If you like traditional looks and reliable, modern performance, you’ll love this cool Flathead 1-wire alternator. It has the look of an original generator, but is really a 12-volt, negative-ground alternator that produces 60 amps at idle and 75 amps going down the road. This model is designed to fit 1949-1953 Ford & Mercury Cars and 1948-1953 Ford Trucks with Flathead V8s and features a simple one-wire hookup.

    We offer this one wire alternator in black painted or polished aluminum, and both include stock-appearing mounting brackets (the stock fan carrier bolts to that bracket) and pulleys that accept wide 5/8” belts.

    Performance engine builders know that head studs are superior to bolts, and this is especially the case on Flathead Ford and Mercury V8s. Flathead decks are thin and their threads are easily stripped. By installing studs, you avoid damaging the threads in the block through repeated use. The combination of the studs' fine outer threads and hardened washers also prevents galling and ensures accurate torque readings, particularly on aluminum heads.

    If you like traditional looks and modern performance, you’re gonna love this cool Flathead 1-wire alternator. It has the look of an original generator, but is really a 12-volt, negative-ground alternator that produces 60 amps at idle and 75 amps going down the road.

    Designed to fit 1939-1948 Ford & Mercury Cars and 1939-1947 Ford Trucks with Flathead V8s. These feature a simple one-wire hookup and are available in black or polished aluminum.
