I guess I assumed when you order a new rack and bushings it would be two bushings in a pack not one. Totally my mistake but maybe there should be something in place that identifies requesting one when two are needed to save time. Had to buy locally and got a cheaper version.

It seems the rubber portion of the bushing is longer than necessary. What's the correct way to install these bushings? Should the excess rubber be trimmed or should it be compressed (smashed) by a large washer? Thanks.......Kurt

The rubber does need to be compressed so that the bushing swells up to secure the rack in place

Would it not be better to order the two piece bushing that has the shoulders rather than having the chance of movement with relying on just squishing it?

This bushing is like the factory would have used and has worked great for 30+ years and should give you no problems.
