Meets the same SFI-38.1 certification as the Hans does. Features better multiple impact protection than other units that work with seat belts. The R3 features better comfort, convenience, performance and moblility.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I chose the R3 because it met the requirements of the racing series and because it is independent of the belt system. That means, as an instructor, I can wear it in student vehicles in addition to my own race car.

Q:

seems that the portion of the support which runs down your spine would fit between your back and the seat. this either seems like it would be uncomfortable or that the seat would need to be adapted to accept this. Can you help clarify this?
