Some class rules require a stock appearing torque converter if you run a Powerglide. We offer two real converters and one dummy converter that is actually a coupler with a torque converter shell attached (28274150). It reduces rotating weight and does not slip, but must be used with our circle track valve bodies. It may not be legal at your track. The real converters have had their stall altered for best performance on the track.

This kit is for those who know how to rebuild a Powerglide, but don't have all the parts to set it up for circle track use. You will need to supply a complete Powerglide transmission core.

TCI® Max Shift™ Circle Track automatic transmission fluid has been tested and proven to enhance drivetrain performance and durability, and it can operate at far greater temperatures than both petroleum-based transmission fluids and synthetic formulas.
This formula offers several unique benefits to circle track racers, including anti-foaming agents that reduce pump cavitation for more consistent line pressures. Max Shift™ Circle Track also maintains an exceptionally high viscosity level at high temperatures, which increases the life of not only the fluid, but of the clutches and bands, as well. This makes the formula ideal for resistance against high temperature drivetrain wear, as well as fluid breakdown that is common in most high performance circle track racing applications. In addition, applications using a torque converter see minimized slippage, which translates into quicker acceleration on the straightaways.
Note: Not for street use - this is a racing formulation only.
These Powerglides are built specifically for circle track racing only. They have a 1.82:1 low gear ratio and are 27-9⁄16" long. All transmissions feature high performance clutches, steel clutch hub, and modified planetary gear set that will work with the latest rear suspensions. They weigh approximately 97 lbs. and must ship truck freight.
