SA2010 Helmet Status  NOTE;... The SA2005 helmets will continue to be accepted by most organizations through 2015. If in doubt, check with the sanctioning body that you run with. As most are aware, Snell introduces new helmet ratings in five year cycles (SA0095, SA2000, SA2005, etc.).  If you have an SA2005 helmet, it very likely will be accepted by your santioning body for some time to come.  When the SA2005 standard was introduced, most sanctioning bodies began phasing out the use of SA95 rated helmets.  For those interested in getting updating to the new SA2010 rated helmets, availability from manufacturers will start October 1, 2010, and be phased in throughout 2011.
