Upgrade your Mustang II based suspension from the stock 9-1/4" rotors to our 11" rotors with powerful single piston GM metric floating calipers. This simple bolt-on conversion requires no machining. For use on 1974-80 Pinto, Bobcat and Mustang II spindles.

Features a 5 on 4-1/2" Ford/Mopar wheel bolt pattern (increases track width 1/2" per side). Includes two 16" front brake hoses and 7/16"-20 banjo bolts with crush washers.

Note:  14" wheels will require clearance to be checked as not all 14" wheels will clear caliper

Bought this to upgrade the brakes on my V8 pinto so that it would stop. Did a great job on collecting all required parts into one package. Also provided a 5 lug swap in the process... Only down side was the assembly instructions for the metric calipers are not included for shim locations. Had to pull it apart a few times to get it right... Car now stops quickly and safely...

Fit was good and installaion was simple. Would be great if additional options were given for the brake lines i.e. braided with varing lengths. However these did not fit my 14" steel wheels and will have to upgrade to 15"

spindles Ok I have a 1962 falcon putting a 302 in it for know until I get my 351 Cleveland together. Putting factory 1974 mustang 2 suspension in it. Wanting to know what all I need to change. Springs and hubs ? Didn't know if spindles would be strong enough to support everything since they were 4 cyl spindles. I know you said the kit would fit the spindles. Not sure what to do.

The Mustang II spinldes are very, very strong. Don't worry about what engine came stock in that vehicle, the suspension will be up to the minor task you have at hand. Springs will obviously need to be a little stiffer with your setup but the suspension parts are more than strong enough to support your vehicle and engine combination.

With an 11” rotor you had 1 3/8” all the way around for the caliper for a total of 13 ¾” you need for clearance inside your wheel. When disc brakes originated the disc brake wheels were of different design and flatter in the area of drop for tire removal. Offset of the wheel itself also can play an important part. If you look at a wheel from the mid 60’s it has a big drop inward from the bead for tire removal and along with the offset can easily run right into the caliper. Disc brake wheels and most aftermarket from the late 60’s on have a chance to clear the dimension above.

No this fits '74 to '78 Mustang and '74 to '80 Pinto/Bobcat only. Sorry I do not have a disc brake kit for your '69 Mustang originally equipped with disc brakes.

The 11” Mustang II brake kit uses GM calipers and nets an O.D. for comparison to the I.D. of your wheels of approximately 13.6”. This is to allow for caliper clearance and will work on limited disc brake 14” wheels.

This brake kit number 91031944 uses Granada 11” rotors and GM calipers so it may not be an improvement to your existing brakes. This diameter rotor and caliper style stop GM cars weighing in over 4000 pounds and if you are under that weight we would suggest checking the rest of the brake system for other issues. Use of 3/16” line is recommended to aid in brake pressure and you will need 1200 to 1300 psi at the calipers to allow proper braking. Master cylinder bore size, pedal ratio, bleeding of the system, and other areas of concern need to be addressed. If looking for a higher power brake system we do offer the SSBS brake kit number 28614836 which may be of interest and also a Wilwood kit with multiple piston calipers. Brake pressure requirement will still be the same.

If your rear axle is a stock 40 ford, we don't sell a brake kit for it. However If you have a later model axle with a 4-3/4, 4-1/2 or 5x5 bolt pattern, you can use our weld on kit 91031934.

No, with 11" rotor you will need 14" wheels minimum. Wheels will hit on calipers

                        Wilwood's D154 forged billet caliper is a direct bolt-on, lightweight, high-strength, extreme duty alternative to the OE cast iron calipers that were used on a wide range of factory disc brake equipped mid size GM cars and small trucks beginning in 1978. Use of this caliper can still be found on some GM models as late as the year 2002. The wide spread and affordable availability of D154 calipers and brake pad compounds also made it a popular choice in a number of restricted class competition categories and drum to disc conversions on all types of hot rods and street machines. There are three piston configurations available for the D154: A large 2.50" single piston, and two two-piston models featuring 1.62/1.62" or 1.12/1.12" pistons. All three calipers utilize stainless steel pistons. Stainless pistons are used to resist corrosion and retard heat transfer from the pads into the caliper body. High temperature, square faced bore seals are used to provide controlled piston retraction and reliable performance from the wider sealing face. Wilwood's specially formulated Hi-Temp 570° Racing Brake Fluid has a minimum 570 degree dry boiling point to withstand the severe heat requirements of automotive racing. Hi-Temp 570's low viscosity allows easy bleeding of your brake system, eliminating aeration of the brake fluid caused by foaming due to excessive pumping of the pedal.
