Speedway's complete transmission conversion kit is an excellent upgrade for early Ford drivetrains – the lightweight flexplate and torque converter does wonders for a Flathead's throttle response and stop-and-go driving.
The complete kit comes with a rebuilt transmission included; we also have basic kits available if you want to source your own transmission.

Speedway's complete Flathead Ford to C4 transmission kit adapts a C4 automatic transmission to your 1949-1953 Flathead V8. This kit includes Speedway's "Street King" Ford C4 transmission – which is completely re-manufactured using heavy duty clutches and a special shift kit – plus the necessary torque converter, engine adapter, custom flexplate, modified 12- volt starter, hardware and instructions.
To use this kit, your car must be converted to a 12-volt negative-ground electrical system and a modern, open-drive rear axle and drive shaft. Shift linkage, kick-down linkage and a transmission mounting crossmember are the customer's responsibility.
