If you are using 1978-88 GM Metric style brake calipers your choices of piston sizes are pretty much limited to 2-1/2". This isn't bad unless you want to 'tune' your braking by using different size calipers front to rear. By using a larger 2-3/4" piston you will increase the braking force at a wheel over a wheel using a smaller piston. Bleeder and inlet are both 10mm-1.5 inlet allowing the caliper to be used on either side. Plus, these calipers have been ground smooth to make them easier to paint. Includes pads and hardware. Sold as ...
These stock replacement single piston Metric calipers werestandard equipment on 1978-88 GMmid-size cars (Cutlass Grand Prix Regals Monte Carlo etc.). They feature a 2.38" single piston shielded bottom inlet and will save 3-1/2 lbs. per side compared to mid-size 1969-1977 caliper.IMCA approvedNo core charge required7/16"-20 inletCan be usedwith brake hoses from Pre-1978 GM intermediate carsBrake pads & bolts sold separatelyNote: Does NOT include brake pads or slider bolts and bushings.
Wilwood's GM Metric Caliper is a direct replacement for the 1978 and later D154 type GM metric caliper. Weighs starting at 2.92 pounds, it provides a substantial weight savings over cast iron OE calipers. This competition caliper represents that latest refinements in a caliper design and manufacturing through the use of comuputer based FEA solid modeling and stress simulation programs. The real strength of this caliper comes from its triple bridge configuration, and its lightness is a result of efficient design. Casting using a tight grained, high density aircraft alloy ...

These 1978-up GM Metric calipers accept either GM or Lokar type emergency brake cables. The fluid inlets are tapped to accept 7/16-20 banjo fittings. Includes the bracket to attach the emergency brake cable slider bolts andbrakepads. The bleeder hole is 10mm x 1.5. If speed bleeders are needed use our part number 6173958. Mount bolt spacing is 5.45". 910-31046 Instructions (PDF)
These are based on the popular GM Metric calipers with 5-1/2" mounting centers. Undersized: 6.620 lbs. 10mm - 1.5 inlet Undersized Metric Calipers: Can be used on the right front of open wheel modifieds and street stocks on dirt surfaces to reduce right front braking bias to aid in corner entry. Can be used on the rear of open wheel modifieds and street stocks racing on pavement to reduce rear brake bias.

These all new cast, not rebuilt iron calipers are bolt-on replacements for 1978 and later GM Metric calipers widely used in "spec" racing categories and low cost disc brake conversions. Not IMCA pproved. Wilwood iron GM Metric calipers combine new part quality with modern machining precision. There are two piston size options to assist builders with properly building static bias into a car. Previously, builders using the metric calipers generally had to mount the same size calipers on all four wheels. This drastically limited the tuning options and often created ...
