What's in the Box

We use this plate with our Flathead Ford to C-4 transmission adaptor kit to provide additonal torque convertor clearance (insufficient convertor clearance will ruin the transmission front pump).

This block plate number 91029012 is a spacer plate used on the 289-351 small block Fords and applicable to the 302 engines. It has dual starter pattern for either flywheel and should bate between your engine and C4 transmission to give it a little clearance.

Does this plate work with 157 tooth flywheel?

Part number 91029012 This block plate is used on applications dictating additional torque converter clearance. Not needed on all applications except when torque converter goes in too far and can cause damage to the front pump. You may want to consult the transmission supplier for recommendation.

The block plate used in our flathead to C4/AOD transmission does NOT have holes for the torque converter. Once the adapter, block plate, flex plate, and transmission are installed the starter pocket opening is utilized for starting and torqueing the torque converter bolts. Online you can open the pdf instruction file for full assembly and photos.

This block plate is for the small block Ford 289, 302, and 351 W. We also use it with our flathead Ford to C4 adapter and in that use it goes between the adapter and The C5 transmission to simply space the trans back enough for proper converter engagement. It is still using the C4 pattern and not the flathead engine bolt pattern. To Further understand this useage you could look up part number 91028906. The block plate WILL work on your 351 Windsor
