If you have ever looked at a stock Flathead Ford connecting rod, you would wonder how those skinny things ever survive. So, if you have found a good block and are going to add a longer arm and a bigger thump stick, you had better upgrade to a set of H-beam rods. They are the stock length of 7.00" and accept 49-53 rod bearings. With the added material on the big end, they require a 3.25" or larger finished bore.
