What's in the Box

Improve the performance and exhaust note of your 1932-53 flathead Ford V8 with these affordable, high-quality tubular steel headers. They have a compact center-dump design. The center-dump design will not work on Ford cars with stock wishbones.

  • Headers drop straight down approx. 7.5” from mount surface to bottom of collector
  • At exhaust ports, header sticks out approx. 2.25”
  • At bottom of block, collector sticks out apporx. 4.25”
  • Block flange on these headers is 7/16" thick
  • Collector Flange Outlet: 2-1/2"
  • Not for use with stock wishbone front suspension

Includes block gaskets, collector gaskets and a pair of companion 2-1/2" flanges for beginning the exhaust system (companion flanges fit 2-1/2" pipe).

Note: Stainless header tubing when exposed to exhaust temperature will cause the finish to change color which will vary with the exhaust temperature. Please note that the finish of the header when the engine is started, will change to a light champagne color to a darker gold finish and in some instance may even turn dark blue or purple. This can be polished back out when utilizing Blue-away or Simi-chrome polish, but please note that when the headers reach running temperature again, they will immediately change color.

steering box clearance I would like to use these headers on a 1952 ford f1 pickup with the 239 flathead 8 cyl.. The question is will they clear the original steering box? Do you have any input using them in this application?

These headers fit many applications but for OEM applications there is sometimes clearance issues. With the variations in specifications we recommend comparing the below information to your application to verify clearance to the steering box and other components: Headers drop straight down approx. 7.5” from mount surface to bottom of collector At exhaust ports, header sticks out approx. 2.25” At bottom of block, collector sticks out apporx. 4.25” Block flange on these headers is 7/16" thick Tube Size: 1-3/4" Collector Size: 2-1/2" Collector Flange Outlet: 2-1/2" Not for use with stock wishbone front suspension

These headers drop straight down from the center ports and depending on engine, steering components, and frame width verification of fit to your application will take some basic home work measuring. Following is some guidance to help determine fit: HEADERS DROP STRAIGHT DOWN APPROX 7.5"; AT EXH PORTS, HEADER STICKS OUT APPROX 2.25"; AT BOTTOM OF BLOCK, COLLECTOR STICKS OUT APPROX 4.25"

The replacement square outlet gaskets are part number 91013607.

Application Note: These headers wont fit most Model Ts or Model As due to narrow the frame width, particularly on the passenger side. 1948-52 Ford F1 (1/2 ton) pick-ups will have interference with one bolt on the stock steering box. That bolt can usually be modified so that the headers can be used. The headers will not work in 3/4 ton or larger trucks from 1948-52. Most 1942-48 Mercury cars will require shimming of the motor mount for steering clearance.
