If you have tried to find a good used Corvair steering box, you know that the chances of finding a good one are slim to none. Don't bother! These brand new Corvair steering boxes have already been reversed. Designed for use on traditional steering cars and T-buckets, these boxes are constructed of modern high strength steel and needle bearings to ensure durability, which original boxes just can't offer.
If you are building or updating a T-bucket that has a reversed Corvair steering box, a little chrome may be in order. These beautifully chromed works of art function just as good as they look. Both units feature a strong cast steel case, needle bearings, and precision gears with a 20:1 ratio.
This manual steering box is a bolt-in replacement for 1966-1982 Mopar A-body, B-body, C-body and E-body cars. The fresh casting is filled with all-new components and uses a smaller sector shaft.
Let's face it, that steering box is now 40+ years old and not as tight as it used to be. These direct replacement boxes with all new castings, sector gear shaft, needle bearings, and internals will make your car handle like new again.
We now offer 3/4 " DD shaft machined the entire length of the shaft, making it easier to set up your steering. Carbon steel shaft comes in 22" and 36" lengths.
