This trick device is a normally open switch with 3/8" NPT male threads that screws into your manifold's water passage. When the coolant reaches 185-215, the contacts close, activating a relay which directs current to your electric fan. When the engine cools, the contacts open, and the fan stops automatically. This arrangement is not adjustable, but is more rugged than other setups.

If you want to get rid of the mechanical fan and go to an electric, this is the ticket. Made of .062" aluminum, these shrouds have a wide lip to allow you to trim and fit most applications. Measure your radiator core from the inside edge to the inside edge of the tanks and then measure the core the other way. (The tanks are not included in the measurement.)
