Nice welding

Other than wishing these were made a little wider, it's a good product. Heavy tubing. A wider axle (king pin to king pin) such as 50 & 52" would work better with a wheel that has a lot of back spacing for old trucks. Wheels spacers are an option but tend to be a little tough on wheel bearings.
Yes, I recommend this product.

No perch bosses cannot be added to this particular axle and would be up to the builder to fabricate as needed. We do have a 3” dropped axle with perch boss installed under part number 91035121 or we have an axle with the brackets installed to accept a spring pivot under number 91335113 or 91335213 if so desired.

Sorry I am not able to build custom drop axles. The only way I can do a custom width is a straight axle.

On a 48” dropped axle the bend on the tube axle starts at about 34” or 18” from center. Most brackets for hot rod use are placed at 32”. With a little modification of the spring pad you may be able to go slightly wider by altering for the raise at the radius. Either way the 27.5” should easily fit.

These plain tube axles do NOT come with the leaf spring pads or any related brackets or hardware. We do offer the spring pads and several options for shock and other accessory brackets. They only accept the 49-54 Chevy car spindles and will NOT accept the truck spindles even though the king pin diameter is the same. The camber angle built into the axle is 3 ¼ degrees different between the car and truck. We DO offer dropped axles for the 9147-54 Chevy truck under part number 580440 which will accept the truck spindles and the related bolt on parts appropriately.
