Great motor mounts

April 12, 2015
I'm using these mounts for a difficult setup in a 1939 Dodge 2-door sedan. The price is fair and these mounts are built stronger than the proverbial brick outhouse. I highly recommend them.

Don't screw around with lesser mounts

March 10, 2012
As advertised and not only that, the support for it was perfect with answers you can understand. I had two slight problems with the installation but that is expected with a universal product like this. I needed to install a bolt differently because of clearance issues and needed to beef up two washers. Other than that, it went fine. Simple to use and the price was right. Don't screw around with mounts you find on the Internet. Speedway might cost a little more, but they are perfect and if you are a beginner, the tech support (thanks Tom) is excellent as well.
Pros:
  • Easy To Install
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Product

February 24, 2012
I love these. They allow for choices in engine placement and make pulling engine in and out very easy. Also, unlike the cross member style mounts, these mounts keep the pathway under the engine and oil pan clear and empty. Easy removal of oil pan necessary. I built my first Apache using these, and now I am using them to replace the tubular cross member style mount a previous owner used on my current Apache.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This mount kit is for the small block V8 and will not work with the inline six. Sorry we do not offer a mount kit for your application.

In order to gain fire wall clearance you will most likely have to move the engine forward. Since this is a universal style mount it can be slid forward somewhat to gain clearance if needed. Be sure to mock together everything possible before welding/bolting the frame brackets in place. That way you have the ability to move the engine slightly for clearance of other items which may be necessary.

Yes this will work to install a 283 engine into your 55 Chevy pickup as long as your 283 engine is 1958 or newer with the side mount provisions on the block.

I have a 1959 Apache pickup, with original 235 inline engine coming out of it. I am replacing it with a 1985 Chev 305 V8 and possibly a 900r4 transmission, are these mounts bolt on compatable for this installation? I have the 1985 pieces, but it may be easier to use adapters intended for this purpose. You opinion and info is appreciated.

If your Napco truck evolved around the 55-59 Chevy half ton or 3/4 ton chassis then the motor mount kit 7204771 should work fine.
