It's been a long time since you could buy a 100% brand new V-8 quick change rearend with the features this one showcases. Each of these rear assemblies includes new axles with 5 on 4-1/2" and 5 on 4-3/4" bolt patterns, 3.78:1 ring & pinion, Wedgelock differential, 1310 series yoke, and plain steel axle tubes. Accepts our part #91712 6-spline quick change gears.
56" wide hub-to-hub. Uses the big Ford bearing (3.150") and has a 2-1/2" axle offset.

Finally an all new V8 quick change that has steel side bells and tubes that accept modern axles. They are available in either plain finish or a polished center section that includes stainless steel fasteners. These rear ends are 56" from hub to hub and have both 5 on 4 1/2" and 5 on 4 3/4" bolt patterns. They accept the new style big Ford brakes with a 2 1/2" offset and the standard Spicer 1310 Chevy 3-1/4" u-joint. The 3.78 ring and pinion is mounted on a wedgelock differential and accepts common 6 spline quick change gears.
These 6 spline midget gears are CNC machined from SAE 8620 steel. 1-3/8" wide gears.

Lucas Oil SAE 75w-140 Synthetic Gear Oil is a non-foaming, super slick, long lasting lubricant designed especially for heavy duty or high performance applications where regular gear lubricants just aren't good enough.
Contains a special additive package that cushions gears and resists "squeezing out" under extreme pressure situations where other gear lubricants just aren't good enough. Specially designed to stand up to high temperatures without losing its lubricity.

Whether you're running a stock flattie and rearend or hopped-up overhead and quick change, you need to run a good gear lube. Remember that your rearend was designed fifty plus years ago and needs all the help it can get. The biggest improvement you can give it is a lubricant that will allow the gears to survive the highway speeds that cars see today. L.E. gear oil is what we use in our 350 mph streamliner, that uses a V-8 quick change, without failure. The "red stuff" provides superior lubrication for long gear life. You can't win if you don't finish. We suggest 90 weight for the street and 140 weight for extreme uses.
