If you want to match the width of the stock rear end then you can measure from axle face to axle face of the original to determine then width. That is how we measure the 56" width of this rear end.

This uses a 1310 U-joint such as 91048315 or 91045153. This is assuming that your drive shaft also uses the 1310 size U-joint.

Without measuring my current axle length, doyou know if 56" is the length I need on a 67 Chevy II? Also does it have limited slip or a no slip spline?

The 68 and up Nova used a 60” hub face to hub face rear end and the earlier ones had a couple of options. Depending on the clearance and the wheel offset the 56” may be a little narrow. Some basic measurements on your application will verify fit and the hub to hub face where the wheels will bolt on is the width quoted in our catalog and website.

This rear end would be a very custom installation into a 2004 Ford Lightning. You would need suspension brackets and brakes that would be compatible to your truck as well as this rear end has a wheel bolt pattern of 5 on 4 1/2" or 5 on 4 3/4" where your truck has a bolt pattern of 5 on 135mm. Sorry I do not offer a rear end that would be easily adapted to your Ford Lightning.

You could use this rear end for drift use. You will need to order a quick change gear set part number 80285 of the correct ratio for your application. I also have a selection of disc brake kits available for this rear end. It will use a 9" Ford "New Style Big Bearing" brakes.

None of the quick change gears are helical cut or they would not be able to withstand the thrust or load front to back. They will be noisy and once you know what gear set you need the B&J have a better machined surface and are less noisy. A high quality grease also helps with the whine going down the road.

Currently the pinion mount E-brake is specific to the 9” Ford rear end and works with the 1310 style yoke. The quick change rear end also utilizes this yoke but the bracket retaining the caliper and related hardware would not bolt up to the quick change rear end. The bracket and related parts to retain the caliper and cable assembly would need to be fabricated by the builder.

Not as loud as a gear drive for a motor but will make noise, mostly under decelleration.

I apologize, we do not stock a 58" rear end. You would need to get in contact with Winters Performance for a special order.
