What's in the Box

This popular, lightweight, compact design is used for clutch and small master cylinder requirements and is well known for its dependability. It incorporates an improved plastic screw-on filler cap which protects the fluid in the 1.4 ounce reservoir.

  • Includes fitting to accept 3/8"-24 inverted flare from 3/16" hard line
  • If AN-3 or AN-4 flex line is to be used, the following adapters will work:
    • 910318-3/8  (3/8"-24 to AN-3 Male Brake Fitting)
    • 6174030  (3/8"-24 Inverted Flare to AN-4 Fitting)

Saginaw 4 speed, 3/4" bore is too small

The 3/4 bore will not give you enough travel for the clutch to disengage. Use a master cylinder with a 7/8" bore for the correct travel on a Saginaw 4 speed, you'll probably have the same problem with a 3 speed. I've had this tranny in and out 8-10 times trying to figure out why the clutch would not disengage and allow the tranny to shift. The gears never did grind and not matter if the clutch was in or out, the tranny would operate.

It works, I can't say great or bad, it's just a hydraulic cylinder. There's not many choices when you need a 3/4" bore master cylinder, which is what my Ram hydraulic throw out bearing required. The linkage was a little short for my application, had to custom make my own linkage.

Wilwood is a well-known brand and I replaced a factory original British part (Girling). It was a perfect fit! It's been on the car now for about a month and everything works fine. I will definitely buy this part again, and tell my fellow Metropolitan enthusiasts to use these as well. I did shop around and Speedway had the best prices and shipping.

does the job for my clutch

its a nice piece, compace takes up almost no room. the threads to plumb it are wierd being 3/8 24 andout 3/4" deep into the master cylinder, and it comes to a point on the bottom to seal, similar to a brake bleeder. i could not find any adapter to directly fit the master cylinder to run 3 an line, you have to leave the wilwood adapter in which is inverted flare for a steel brake line. and run a male inverted flare to male -an adpater. the this is listed no where, not even on wilwood site. it would be much simpler if they used 1/8 npt thread like on their other masters.

This is a 3/4" bore master cylinder. We do not have the exact specs of the slave cylinder that you mention but more than likely this master cylinder would be able to operate it.

Can this push a 1" bore slave out of a 91 IROC w/a T-5 Have a 74 Datsun 260 Z w/a Chev 350 and a 91 WC T5 with a 1" bore Chev. slave out of a 91 Camaro IROC-Z.. The Datsun 5/8 master will not push it far enough to disengage clutch.. Will this master push the slave 1" to disengage clutch??..

The Wilwood number 8352601304 is a ¾ bore master cylinder and in many cases will supply the needed volume for full clutch release but still is only 1/8” larger in bore size than your existing master cylinder. We offer more compact master cylinders such as number 835260103 which is available in 1” bore or also 70174 which is also available in the 1” bore size.

Yes, our Master Cylinder part number: 8352601304, 3/4" bore, 1.4" stroke, will work with the Push Type Slave, 7/8" bore, 1.250 travel, part number: 91025605.
