What is the thickness of the adapter? I'm trying to determine how much this will position the trans back from the engine. I need to replace the transmission, want something more reliable, w/ OD (700R4). It's already pretty tight, between the current bell housing bolts and the firewall.

To confirm cross member location on the 350 Turbo transmissions the cross member cushion center line is 20 3/8" from the front of the transmission to the center of the cushion. The 350's have 3 different tail shaft lengths ranging from 6 to9 to 12" and this does not effect the cushion location but will effect the drive shaft length. Your drive shaft length will most likely require length change and the front slip yoke will need to be changed to match the 350 diameter and spline count.

From information listed on manufacturers specifications this adapter works on the early version of the 429 and does not include the 65-66 years. You may want to check with TD Performance Products to see if one is offered and the nearest vendor.

Will this work with a 63 cadillac 390. I have heard that the bellhousing bolt pattern changed in 63.

To complete this conversion you will need to change your yoke and or maybe shorten the driveshaft.
