Q & A

What's in the Box

These wide 5 wheel adapters are 3/8" steel with 5/8" UNF studs. Adapts your "early modified" wheels to today's more popular bolt patterns.

Must use spacer with drum brake. The bolt heads on the back side of the adapter do not sit flush, contacting the brake drum. The thickness of the spacer would depend on the specific brake drum being used, but the 1/4" 916-58210 or 3/8" 916-58212 should work for many applications. Both of these spacers would work on the 916-58251.

Now I can use my older wheels

April 08, 2012
These work and look great. The only issues I have with them is needing to use a spacer when using drum brakes. Too bad the bolt heads stick so far out the back.
Pros:
  • Cheaper than having made
  • Easy To Install
Yes, I recommend this product.

I am not sure what you are referring to. This adapter will work fine with disc brakes.

I have 5 on 4 3/4 rotors. And my rim lug pattern is 5 on 5 or I can use 5 on 5 1/2. Would these adaptors work for me?

No, wide 5 is different than 5 on 5. Look at part #91658254, this should work for you

Single Sided Steel Lug Nut, 5/8 Inch RH Fine Thread, Single Taper
(Part #91003913)

Use these oversized 1 Inch Hex Steel lug nuts in plane of those 'puny' stock size lug nuts.

You will need a 1" hex (6-sided) socket.

5/8" Fine Thread fits most racing wheels.

  • 45° taper
  • 5/8" RH Fine Thread, Single Taper

What's The Angle
Most racing wheels have a 45° seat for the lug nut to seat in while most street wheels use 60°. By using 45° the lug nut is able to clamp tighter over a larger area, which helps keep your wheels on the car where they belong.

If you mix and match street and race wheels or lug nuts you are just asking for trouble. All our lug nuts are 45° and designed to be used with racing wheels.
