Q & A

What's in the Box

These are the headlight and shock mounts we designed  for our T-buckets. They were designed to be welded to the outside edge of the frame rail with the shock mounting on outside (front) of the bracket.

  • Mounts have 1/2" holes for Dietz style or other headlights
  • Each mount has two different 1/2" hole locations for upper shock mounting
  • Weld-on to frame rail
  • Shock bolts to outside, front of mount

Be sure to purchase our shock mount bolts (sold separately) with installation of these brackets.

Note: For use with radius rod front suspensions and Speedway T-Bucket 4-bar kits. Will not work with Model A and newer 4-bar kits.

Good Stuff!!

February 23, 2015
These were just exactly what I needed for the front end on my rat rod. Neat looking with reversible mounts for my shocks. I was especially pleased with the quick shipping and arrival time. They could have been a little more rusty for my application, but you can't always have everything. They are exceptionally sturdy when installed properly and they look great!
Pros:
  • really nice setup for ease of location and allignm
Yes, I recommend this product.

NICE ITEM, BUT I IMPROVED THEM MORE.

September 21, 2013
THESE ARE NICE HEAD LIGHT STAND MOUNTING BARS AND THE AVERAGE GUY WOULD BE SATISFIED. I'M NOT THE AVERAGE CAR GUY, SO I LIGHTLY GROUND DOWN THE WELDS AND ROUNDED THE EDGES WITH SOME POLISH SANDING AND NOW THEIR EVEN BETTER. CAN'T WAIT TO GET THEM PAINTED.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great solution not alot of space, But no

September 15, 2013
I'm builiding traditional 1929 Model A. Due to the low ride height and limited room i needed a mount for headlights and shocks. This part was the answer. But beware these mounts are made for and designed for Speedway's T-bucket kits. If you are building a low car with a custom frame like mine they may not work. I bought them for my car and due to the ride height being so low these mounts were not tall enough. I had to buy some 1/4 steel and have a custom mount laser cut out to resemble these mounts. It would be nice if speedway could sell the same mount but with extra material a couple inches taller so they could be cut and made to fit anything with any ride height.
Pros:
  • look very old skool and traditional
  • nice idea
  • good solution for space issues
Cons:
  • not a universal fit for everything
  • should be made longer so you can cut to fit.
Yes, I recommend this product.

good looking parts, well built, BUT they do not specx that the shock mounts to the OUTSIDE or INSIDE of these brackets NOR do they state that you need an additoinal part(shock bolt) to mount to the brace. now im all finsihed welded on to find this out? get to cut it off and re-do.. speedway needs to update the specs on parts and include ANY other additonal parts needed
No, I would not recommend this product.

Just what i was looking for!

November 22, 2011
Used on a 23"T". They are the perfect setup, one piece design to mount lights and shocks. Lightening holes make them look real nice, and yet they remain strong and functional. Very good product, at a very reasonable price. I would recomend them to a friend for sure!
Pros:
  • Sturdy
  • Functional
  • Very nice looking
Yes, I recommend this product.

Well built pieces

August 20, 2011
well built, looks good. I had to use the alternate shock mount hole (farther out on bracket) so the shock body would clear the shock bracket sides. It was not as easy as bolting the shock into this hole. Approximately 3/4" of the welded top plate had to be cut out for the shock eye to clear the top plate.
Pros:
  • Good fit to chassis
Yes, I recommend this product.

These headlight/shock mounts are designed for the T bucket chassis with spring behind axle. If your frame is like a Model A or 32 you would need to change the shock mounts on the bottom of the axle to mount rearward inside the hairpins and in doing so may be tight on clearance between the frame and hairpins. More commonly used on a Model A to 1934 cars would be a shock bracket such as number 91636004 or 91636001. Then you would also use separate headlight mounts.
