Walker's Cobra radiator is the best in t

September 05, 2014
Quality and fit is second to none, I've built hot rods for 30 years and used a lot of sub standard radiators but once I used a Walker I've never recommended any other since. 5 Stars all the way, and they stand behind their products all the way. If you're looking for a hot rod or classic muscle car radiator look no farther Walker's the best. Stanley S. Terry

Walker for a Model A Ford

February 14, 2010
I am puting a 4 cylinder 3.7 Mercruiser engine in a 1930 Model A closed cab pickup. I am using Vintage Air and need a Radiator with a built in condensor in front of the radiator. It has to look good with a Model A Ford radiator shell. I believe the Walker radiator will look very good in this application.
Pros:
  • Very sturdy
  • Good finish
  • Fine craftmanship
Yes, I recommend this product.

Using the Cobra series of radiators is for the basic stock or mildly modified engines. For your application it is worth the extra to go with the Walker Z series 820ZAC4872 and with sufficient air flow will cool your 383 fine.

Small Block Ford engines can take advantage of the less expensive and more readily available "Chevy" radiators by using a passenger side inlet water pump (such as our 910-15544) and get additional steering box/fuel pump clearance to boot!

Red Line 80204 Water Wetter Coolant Additive
(Part #91015709)

Red Line Water Wetter Super Coolant additive is a unique wetting agent which reduces coolant temperatures by as much as 20° F. This is a liquid coolant treatment product which is designed to be added to solutions of antifreeze and water to help improve the heat transfer properties of glycol-based antifreeze. This liquid product can be used to provide rust and corrosion protection in plain water for racing engines, which provides much better heat transfer properties than glycol-based antifreeze. Improves the ability of coolant to wet heat transfer surfaces by 50%.

  • Reduces or eliminates bubbles that form on hot metal surfaces to reduce coolant temperatures by up to 20°
  • Superior heat transfer properties compared to glycol-based antifreeze
  • Compatible with new or used antifreeze (including DEX-COOL and long-life versions) to improve the heat transfer of ethylene and propylene glycol systems
  • Improves heat transfer and reduces cylinder head temperature
  • Designed for use with all modern aluminum, cast iron, copper, brass and bronze cooling systems
  • Cleans and lubricates water pump seals
  • Reduces cavitation and complexes with hard water to reduce scaling
  • Does not lower cooling system below the thermostatically-controlled temperature
  • 12 fl. oz. bottle treats 12-20 quarts
