Walker Cobra Series radiators boast a relatively thin, but efficient, high-flow copper core which is ideal for use with mild Small Block engines with stock or low compression ratios. Each radiator is built for a direct fit with heavy gauge steel side brackets and standard mounting holes pre-stamped. 1930-31 S SERIES 4-CORE RADIATOR
                        

Don't be fooled into believing you need a thicker core for increased cooling! A thicker core can restrict air flow through itself, decreasing it's own efficiency!

Cobra Walker radiators boast a relatively thin but very effective core with a vertical tube every 1/4" and 17 fins per inch of height.

All Walker radiators are made from the finest materials available;

  • copper cores
  • one-piece deep draw brass tanks
  • heavy duty steel side brackets

They easily withstand working pressures of 18 psi, incorporate an oil cooler for automatic transmissions (Flathead radiators don't have oil cooler) and a brass drain cock for easy service.

Each radiator is built for a specific application with heavy gauge steel side brackets and standard mounting holes pre-stamped. They work with original, reproduction, steel or fiberglass grille shells.

  • Model T and A radiators have a dummy filler neck in the original stock location to accept stock type caps and accessories. Most radiators have the real filler neck on the rear of the upper tank on the passenger side. The upper outlet will be 1-1/2" and positioned in the center or towards the Driver's side (depending on application.)
  • Unless listed as Ford Motor, each radiator's lower outlet will be 1-3/4" and positioned on the (RH) passenger's side. Ford motor applications will have a B prefix in the part number and a 1-3/4" lower outlet on the (LH) driver's side.
  • Small Block Ford engines can take advantage of the less expensive and more readily available "Chevy" radiators by using a passenger side inlet water pump (such as 910-15544) and get additional steering box/fuel pump clearance to boot!
  • Flathead engine applications will have an FH designation and have two upper and two lower outlets.
  • The Cobra Series is fine for mild small block engines with stock or low compression ratios.
  • The Z-Series is a 4-core design for big blocks, 400 cubic inch S/B Chevys, blowers, high compression, flatheads, and other cooling problem cars.

Note: The cap for the dummy neck could be number 91122002 or one of the other Model A caps. The pressurized cap at the rear of the upper tank could be as low as a 15lb cap and up to a 32lb cap. Engine you run dictates which cap would be needed. A commonly used cap is our speedway cap number 91015620.

Radiator Mounting Kit, Black Steel
                        

Mount your radiator correctly! Kit includes two 3/8"-24 x 2-1/4" mounting bolts, lock nuts, washers, springs, and a pair of rubber cushions approximately 1/8" thick.

This radiator mounting kit is an OEM way of mounting the radiators on the early vehicles. The early vehicles had frames that were not of the same quality as today’s modern frames and also the roads were less than desirable and created a lot of body and frame flex and twist. This style kit eliminated damage to the radiator from the frame flex to a rigid mounted radiator. In today’s hot rod applications or OEM installations there are a couple of mounting options. The rubber pad goes between the frame and the radiator mounting flange. The spring can sit above the radiator mount tab or down below the lip of the frame. The bolt and applicable washer go through the mounting hole and spring and is retained by the included lock nut. Nut is tightened enough to put tension on the spring in the desired amount and thus letting the radiator absorb frame flex or twist by compression of the spring.

Maximize your radiators' effectiveness with a tight-fitting fan shroud. Use of these shrouds has produced temperature drops of up to 30 degrees!

Walker shrouds are vacuum formed from a very dense polyethylene. This high-impact, heat resistant material has a lightly textured, semigloss black finish. The cooling fan hole is not cut out so the installer can tailor that to the exact fan location and diameter.
