We designed this trunk hinge kit for our 1932 Lo-Boy but found it was just the ticket for almost any application. Flame cut from 3/8" thick mild steel.

Set of two steel hinges. Fitting required.

  • Pivot point to end of arm is 4-3/4"
  • Straight run on arm is 5-3/8"
  • Angle bracket is 1" x 1" x 5"
  • Hole spacings in bracket on center are 3" and 4"
  • Angle bracket on arm is 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 6"
  • Arm is 4" from pivot point to top of curved bend

These have to be modified for the old humpback cars like my 38 Chrysler sedan.

the product seemed well built and a good product however before and even after modifications the hinge would not work on my 37 plymouth

I used the product on a fiberglass t-bucket body with a deck lid. It was difficult to figure out the correct way to mount them. It came to to geometry, pivot point and other factors. I think there needed to be some instructions to how they should be mounted. I know that is difficult for a universal kit...... but something?
