What's in the Box

Info

These universal 5-way adjustable tilt steering columns have all the features you are looking for, but at a cost you can afford. They accept a 1" DD U-joint and the common '69-'94 GM steering wheels or adapters. The wiring uses the GM 4-1/4" connector. Uses a 2" hole column drop.

These shifter columns include the shift indicator and a straight and offset shifter arm. Works with 3 or 4 speed automatic transmissions.

These do not have the 4 way flasher button.

Notes

Steering columns are measured from the steering wheel base to the end of the shaft.

That steering column would work in your 56 pickup. You would want to check the length you need to fit you and make a shift linkage to go from the column to the transmission. That column takes a 2" dia column drop to mount the column to the dash.

What provision do these columns have for neutral safety and back up light switches?

Speedway part number 91032453. These steering columns do not have a neutral safety switch, or reverse light switch built into them. That would be something that you would have to modify the column to accept, or make provisions on the linkage.

To decide your column length, one way would be to position a steering wheel where you want it, and measure from the base of the steering wheel, (where it bolts to your column) to the steering shaft on the outside of the firewall.

These columns can be installed in just about any car or truck. The details will vary from vehicle to vehicle, and some fabrication would be required.
