Application

  1. These do not clear the steering box on 1935-1940 Fords or 1955-1957 Chevy cars.
  2. The exhaust port size is square and large enough for most round port heads. It measures 1.375" x 1.375" and should be sufficient for most small block cylinder heads. Variation in location of spark plugs on aftermarket heads makes it impossible to verify that the Tru-Ram® will fit all heads on the market, but it will clear most straight and angle plug heads.

These put rusted Rams Horns on your Corv

These will dress up your small block Chevy/Corvette and get rid of those rusted old rams horns and still be true to the Bow Tie heritage. I put these in place of my "all Corvette underneath" hand built NeoClassic Roadster and eyes popped again when I popped the hood. These and the Edelbrock manifold and carb really dressed up my engine compartment. $500 bucks but worth every penny.

These headers look great on my '30 hot rod coupe. Have plenty of room for plug wires to get around them and they make engine look old school. Work like huggers, smooth nice and clean.

What down pipes would I use for a 1966 Chevy ll ? I'm purchasing a all new factory style front end for this Chevy ll , I do not want to be hacking and beating things into shape as I would be installing new headers. The car came with block hugger headers and and they cut away part of the inner fender and beat some of the tubes into shape to clear the steering box. It's ugly in there . So I figure these ram horns and the needed down pipes that would fit this car would workout really well . Am I thinking correctly ? I saw the down pipes offered in the Pypes site but was wondering if they were for factory exhaust manifolds . Where one exits back near the fire wall and the other at the center . You know what I mean ? The collectors on these ram horns are both at the center aren't they ? The down pipes I saw for a Corvette have both bends the same , but a 66 Chevy ll isn't a corvette ? Can you help me out here ? Thanks , Matt .. It has a 350 , 350 auto tranny, no ac . manual steering ..

The early Nova’s are a tough fit for headers or even cast manifolds. If contemplating our Tru-Ram we highly suggest taking some dimension checks. The collector is centered over the two center ports and from the head surface out extend 3.50” and from the bolts retaining the manifold the collector is 5.50” down and does wrap inward slightly. These do not work on many vehicles and close measurement is suggested. As far as drop tubes with the close tolerances we suggest an exhaust shop for the desired fit. You may want to consider the clipster headers number 9300108 and the dimensions are on our website.

Will these fit on my 1967 Chevy truck? I have a 350 with headmen headers and they are to low ,I bottom out if I am not careful. I saw these and really like them want to get they but not sure they will fit on this truck.thanks.

No these will not fit on your 1967 Chevy pickup. There will be interference at the crossmember.

Fitment into your '62 Impala is unknown. The issue you may be up against is the clearance at the collector area. From the center of the retaining bolts at the center two ports the collector is 7.00” down. On the full cross member cars normally this creates an issue as the collector is straight down from the center two cylinders whereas the stock exit towards the rear.

Will these manifolds work on my 1984 chevy c10 pickup I have headman headers on my truck now, I want to get away from all the leaks. I know I will have to connect these to my pipes where the headers connected.

will fit any early 350 sm blk. Mine was a 78 corvette crate motor. These dump straight down not towards the rear as some do. I had to change my flanges on the exhaust pipes was all.

We offer the following information to help determine fit: Approximate dimensions: 3-1/2" from head surface to outside point 3-1/2" from bolt centers to top of header 5-1/2" from bolt centers to bottom of collector exhaust ports are "square" and measure just UNDER 1.375" wide and tall. These Tru-Ram exhaust manifolds do not include reducers, they are available under part #91013755

Collector reducers listed for our Tru-Ram manifolds are from the 3 ½” collector to 2” pipe. If wanting to stay with the larger diameter pipe you may want to consider our tight fit extension kit number 91013386 in stainless steel or 91013385 in plain steel. For more of a budget approach we offer the collector rings under part number 91013369 and the gaskets number 91013702 and then the fabricator can weld the ring to the exhaust tubing of choice.

The most universal shorty header just got better! Now made of durable stainless steel, these tight-fit headers feature a heavy duty 3/8" thick flange to minimize warpage with 1-5/8" diameter primary tubes and 2-1/2" diameter collectors. Block hugger headers are ideal for street rod engine swaps and can make tight installations easy. They tuck in close to the engine block to provide clearance for frame rails, steering boxes and motor mounts, but please see dimension chart to verify fit for your application.

The head flange features tall oval ports, so they will fit a variety of small block Chevy cylinder heads (EXCEPT angle plug heads). The collectors exit parallel with the oil pan rail to provide maximum ground clearance. Headers include gaskets, collector reducers with a 2" diameter outlet, and stainless steel installation hardware.

Header Dimensions (GIF)

NOTE: Stainless header tubing when exposed to exhaust temperature will cause the finish to change color which will vary with the exhaust temperature. Please note that the finish of the header when the engine is started, will change to a light champagne color to a darker gold finish and in some instance may even turn dark blue or purple. This can be polished back out when utilizing Blue-away or Simi-chrome polish, but please note that when the headers reach running temperature again, they will immediately change color.

These "rams horn" cast iron manifolds were patterned off the 1962-63 327 Corvette but are not OEM remanufactured manifolds. They feature the big 2-1/2" diameter outlets and have provisions to accept original alternator type brackets.

These headers are copies of the original headers on the 62-63 Corvettes and can be used on almost any small block application. The cast in brackets are for the water tank on the drivers side and generator bracket on the passenger side. These can be cut off and smoothed per customers preference. These are a square port configuration with 1-5/8” top to bottom and also side to side. Compare to your head port size for compatibility.
