Header Dimension Chart

Note: The exhaust port size is square and large enough for most round port heads. It measures 1.375" x 1.375" and should be sufficient for most small block cylinder heads. Variation in location of spark plugs on aftermarket heads makes it impossible to verify that the Tru-Ram® will fit all heads on the market, but it will clear most straight and angle plug heads.

Application

  1. Fits great in a variety of street rod and vintage truck applications – particularly those with Mustang II-type suspensions.
  2. Tru-Rams® will not clear original-location steering boxes in 1935-1940 Fords or 1955-57 Chevy cars.

AN OUTSTANDING ALTERANTIVE FOR HEADERS

I HAVE A 82 C10 CHEVY TRUCK WITH A GOODWRECH 350 CRATE MOTOR. I FIRST TRIED A SET OF FLOWTECH HEADERS THAT DROVE ME NUTS WITH CONSTANT HEADER LEAKS. I SAW THESE, AND AFTER A BIT OF RESEARCH DECIDED TO TRY THEM. BOY AM I VERY GLAD THAT I DID. THE LEFT SIDE FIT PERFECT WITH NO PROBLEMS, AND AFTER A GRINDER, WITH SOME MINOR GRINDING ON THE RIGHT SIDE MOTOR MOUNT "BAM" IT SLIDE RIGHT ON. A LOCAL EXHAUST SHOP WELDED THE PIPE'S UP #$60#, AND I NOW HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. IT WAS WORTH THE EXTRA EFFORT TO MAKE THIS SETUP WORK, BUT I AM VERY VERY HAPPY. I TOOK A CAN OF KBS SPAY ALUMINUM HIGH TEMP PAINT, AND PAINTED THEM PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, AND THEY REALLY MAKE A NICE COSMETIC UPGRADE TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THOSE RUSTY LOOKING HEADERS CAN'T COMPARE TO THE LOOKS , AND OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF THIS SETUP. GREAT LOOKS, FIT, AND EXCELLENT OVERALL SOUNDS. NO DOWNSIDE TO THIS WHATSOEVER. JUST AS GOOD AS HEADERS WITHOUT THE HEADACHES!!!!!!

Different and top notch!

Installed on my 64 Chevy C20 with 350 V8. No one here has seen any before. Look great, fit great, lots of room to run wires behind them. Coated mine with high temp ceramic aluminum manifold paint. Didn't want the sound of standard headers, and wanted the durability of cast iron. Great product!

Ram horns

Work great where even tight fit headers don't work. They have excellent clearance below the head ports. Work great with LT1 engines - clear the knock sendors with plenty of room.

High quality product. They do not tuck up close to the block like hugger headers. If clearance is a problem on your project........buyer beware. I had to redesign my steering because of clearance problems. I believe it is worth it because with proper gaskets, etc. no leaks and no maintenance.

Just got them delivered today and they are a really nice piece. My engine is on the stand an not in the vehicle yet so I don't know how well they will fit in my truck. But, I wanted to let folks know that mine came with all the bolts and gaskets needed for installation. It was not obvious to me in the description, so now I have an extra set of gaskets and I don't need to buy bolts.

Quality Manifolds!

I bought these manifolds about 5 years ago for my 1950 Chevy coupe, and they fit great with the Mustang II cross member. They have exceeded my expectations! I had them ceramic coated to reduce under hood temperatures, and they have performed very well and most importantly, never cracked. I would definitely recommend them

THESE FIT EXACTLY AS THE CORVETTE RAMS HORN MANIFOLD. HOWEVER, THEY ARE BETTER CONSTRUCTED, AND FLOW MUCH BETTER.

These are the same 3 1/2" from the exhaust surface of the head to the outside of the collector as the Corvette style manifold 9300328.

Will they fit a 350 Chev. in a 48 Ford? 48 Ford w/350 Chev and Mustang II front end, will they clear the steering shaft?

The true Ram manifolds go straight down from the center two ports and depending on engine location and height may position the collector too close to the cross member and hard to continue on with the rest of the exhaust system. Below are the dimensions to compare to your application: 3 1/2" FROM HEAD SURFACE TO OUTSIDE POINT 3-1/2" FROM BOLT CENTERS TO TOP OF HEADER 5-1/2" FROM BOLT CENTERS TO BOTTOM OF COLLECTOR

Tru Ram exhaust manifold part number 9300300 is of square port design and measures 1.375 vertical and also horizontal to match up with the port size on your L31 heads. Unless your heads have been ported to a larger size these manifolds should work without any restriction.

YES THEY WILL FIT, BUT MAY REQUIRE A BIT OF MINOR GRINDING ON THE RIGHT SIDE MOTOR MOUNT. LEFT SIDE FITS WITH NOT PROBLEMS. GET SOME 2 1/2 REDUCERS, HIT UP YOUR LOCAL MUFFLER SHOP TO GET THEM WELED UP, AND YOU ARE READY TO ROCK. NO DOWNSIDE TO THIS SETUP WITH THE PIA PROBLEMS THAT COME WITH HEADERS.

Speedway does NOT offer an application chart for the multitude of applications these will work on. These specifications and some basic measurements should help determine fit on your truck. 3-1/2" from cylinder head surface to outside point, 3-1/2" from bolt center to top of manifold, 5-1/2" from manifold bolt center to bottom of collector, and 2-1/2" collector uses standard header reducers.

Corvette Style 2-1/2 Inch Ram Horn Exhaust Manifold

These "rams horn" cast iron manifolds were patterned off the 1962-63 327 Corvette but are not OEM remanufactured manifolds. They feature the big 2-1/2" diameter outlets and have provisions to accept original alternator type brackets.

These headers are copies of the original headers on the 62-63 Corvettes and can be used on almost any small block application. The cast in brackets are for the water tank on the drivers side and generator bracket on the passenger side. These can be cut off and smoothed per customers preference. These are a square port configuration with 1-5/8” top to bottom and also side to side. Compare to your head port size for compatibility.
