Q & A

What's in the Box

Our traditional T frame has an additonal 6" of kick-up in the rear and was designed to use our High-Arch leaf spring. Add our 6" drop front axle and you have a T in the weeds. Due to the radical stance of this chassis, we recommend using traditional steering. This frame provides you with a basic working platform, but fabrication skills are required to make it a complete chassis.

  • 23.5" wide @ front crossmember
  • 28.5" wide @ rear corssmember
  • 97" long front-to-back
  • 16" from bottom of frame rail to top of rear crossmember
  • Frame rails measure 3" tall X 1-1/2" wide and are .125 wall thickness

This product requires a 3-4 week build time.

Notes

  1. This frame uses a Model A rear crossmember and has a higher rear kick-up than our other frames. It would typically be used with a spring-behind axle having 6" drop and our High Arch rear spring.

The kick up on the T bucket frames totals 10” from bottom of frame to top of the frame and sits at a 45 degree angle. On the traditional frame the cross member adds an additional 6” of drop to help lower the ride height.

Part # 7154800 The frame dimensions are as follows: * 23.5" wide @ front cross member * 28.5" wide @ rear corssmember * 97" long front-to-back * 16" from bottom of frame rail to top of rear crossmember * Frame rails measure 3" tall X 1-1/2" wide and are .125 wall thickness The original frames were straight and didn’t have the kick up in the back This kick up would need to set up inside the body and we would recommend extending the frame rearward to support the body at the rear as shown on our regular 27 frame and chassis. The amount of body channel would be dictated by the kick up in the frame.

Any of our T bucket bodies will fit on this frame. Most people that build a car that uses a frame like this use the channeled versions of the body.

We have not mocked one up with a medium arch spring so it may sit too low with the shorter spring.
