Q & A

What's in the Box

If you still need a front axle for your pre-2008 Total Performance T-bucket, you had better read this. The Total Performance T-bucket spindles were a hybrid that combined Econoline kingpins, early Chevy bracket mounting tabs and early Ford wheel bearing surfaces. Unfortunately these spindles are no longer being manufactured. Speedway has these special built radius rods that will allow you to use our Ford or Chevy tubular axles.

Specs

  • Overall length is 32 ½”
  • 7/8” O.D.
  • 5/8” x 18 threads

Yes these will be 3" to 4" longer when measuring center to center of the rod ends (or clevises) than the overall length of the radius rods.

The center to center of the Total performance radius rod brackets on the axle are 5” and the center to center of the radius rods with the clevis installed is also 5”. The radius rods themselves under number 7151331 are approximately 4 ¾” center to center.

These radius rods are not an exact fit to the Speedway bracket number 91635012 but with minimal effort will mate to the 5” spacing.

If you want to upgrade your solid axle front end without the hassle of welding and grinding, these mono-leaf springs may be your answer. They are simple to change out and you can adjust ride height by adding spacers above or below the spring. • Superior strength compared to original spindles
  • Modeled after the '37-'41 round-back design
  • Uses '37-'41 Ford kingpins
  • For Ford axles '28-'48
  • Will not work with '28-'36 hubs
  • Complete with kingpin kit

Total Performance Retro-Fit Front Axle Kit
(Part #7152300)

If you still need a front axle assembly for your pre-2008 Total Performance T-Bucket, you had better read this. The Total Performance T-Bucket spindles were a hybrid that combined Econoline kingpins, early Chevy bracket mounting tabs and early Ford wheel bearing surfaces.  Unfortunately these spindles are no longer being manufactured. Speedway has a kit that includes the axle, leaf spring, shackles, radius rods, '49-'54 Chevy car style spindles with kingpins and hardware. This kit will get you away from the hybrid spindles and allows you to run any of our '49-'54 Chevy style brake kits.

Steering arms and tie rod assemblies sold separately. Currently available in plain steel only.
