What's in the Box

Improve the ride, handling and stance of your classic truck with a new rear leaf spring kit. These kits are desgined to lower your truck 4-inches from stock and provide a smoother ride. Spring hangers and shock crossmember bolt on; axle pads are weld-on. Kits include leaf springs, brackets, shock kit, mounting and instructions.

The wiring in your classic pick-up is about fifty years old and probably not up to the task anymore.These harnesses plug into many of the original switches and connectors, but include:

  • modern fuse panel
  • ignition switch
  • headlight switch
  • dimmer switch
  • connectors for tilt columns
  • alternators
  • dome lights
  • head and tail lights, etc.

Everything is color coded and instructions are included - it's a painless process. For 12 Volt upgrades.

Heidts Mustang II Crossmember for 1955-59 Chevy Pickup Frame, Weld-On Kit
                        These are Heidt's Mustang II crossmembers for 1955-59 Chevy Pickups.    The Chevy models have frames and fenders which lend themselves   nicely   to Mustang front end conversion, without changing the critical     geometry.  Chevy IFS kits also come complete with the hard-to-make  special  brackets, such as radiator perch on certian models, to quickly  and  easily complete the installation.  Like Heidts Ford kits, Chevy   kits   do not bumpsteer at all.  Chevy kits come with a step-by-step,     fully-illustrated instruction booklet to ensure that your installation     goes as easily as it should! Correct design results in correct camber     action – and no bumpsteer.

Note: Additional items may be needed to complete installationYou may want to include our Mustang II ride height adjusters (91034444) for installation with these crossmembers to fine tune your final ride height up to 2".  Frame boxing plates (91054429) are also available for these crossmembers for added strength and support.  You must use 2" inner tie rod extensions for proper steering geometry with these crossmembers.

Note:  This crossmember requires the use of rack extensions (91034345) for the manual or the power rack.

Note:   This crossmember is designed to be used with a manual rack only.  A "power"rack-and-pinion interferes with the radiator and/or the radiator support brackets.  

1955-59 Chevy Truck Power Steering Kit
                        

This kit lets you install a 1969-87 Chevy 2WD power steering box with a 13/16"-36 spline input shaft in your 1955-59 Chevy pickup. Included are the pitman arm, upper steering arm, drag link, intermediate steering shaft to connect to an aftermarket coulumn or modified stock column, and all hardware. Welding required.

These kits come with spacers and mounting tabs that are welded to the frame of the pickup to mount the steering box. The original steering column will require alteration and must be welded to the collapsible shaft included in the kit.

1955-59 Chevy Pickup Under Box Aluminum Fuel Tank
                        

These 15 gallon aluminum fuel tanks are designed to be mounted under your pick-up box. The 1-1/2" filler neck will require a remote filler neck or fuel filler door in the box floor. They DO NOT accept the original truck fuel sending unit, but do accept the common sending unit provided with aftermarket gauge sets.

  • 1/4" NPT 90° brass roll-over vent valve with 5/16" hose nipple

Ididit 1120652010 1955-59 GM Pickup Tilt Steering Column, Plain
                        Original equipment steering columns are loaded with unsightly brackets,  tabs and switches. These columns are much cleaner in appearance and  eliminate the column-mounted key switch. These non-shift versions  feature a 2" O.D. column tube. 

Each has a standard GM 3-7/8" wire harness, 8-position tilt, and accept stock 1955-59 GM pickup steering wheels or our custom wheels with an adapter (sold separately).
