Easy suspension to install on a 1952 For

March 26, 2015
Great kit. Easy to install with complete instructions provided. Installed on a 52 Ford F1. Replaced original rearend assembly with a 2000 Ford Explorer rearend assembly. Had to slightly bend and shape axle u-bolts that came with the kit. Otherwise, it was a perfect fit. Highly recommend.
Yes, I recommend this product.

this product needs work!

March 03, 2015
Every hole in every bracket needed to be re-drilled larger to fit the supplied hardware. The instructions say to move the rear spring hanger forward when it needed to be moved rearward. Since I'm installing a Ford Explorer rear axel and not the stock 53-56 rear end, the u-bolts and spring perch/plates are useless because they are set up for a 3" tube whereas the Explorer tube is 3.25"
No, I would not recommend this product.

This rear spring kit is designed to lower the rear of the 48-56 Ford Truck 4” as compared to new. If your original springs have settled over the years you may not get the full 4” of drop. The front Mustang II kits normally lower the front around 2 ½” to 3” with standard spindles and of course 2” more with the dropped spindles. The stance should be fairly close if you have standard height spindles on the front end kit.

Front spring matching What front set up would you recommend to match the four inch drop on 1952 Ford F1? Front springs with a drop axle perhaps?

Depending on your desired stance part number 91041248 from TCI features a 4” drop in the rear for your 48-56 Ford pickup. To get the front down we offer a 3” dropped axle under part number 9104852 and if using the original springs will likely set the front lower than the rear with the new springs. Or for a softer ride we offer part number 580125 front springs from Posie’s in a 3” drop. Using both the springs and the axle will create some negative issues with steering linkage and other components

TCI kit for what size rear axle diameter? Can you tell me what axle diameter this kit is designed for? Hopefully a standard 9" rear with 3" diameter axle housing. I've already converted my 50 F-1 pickup to a 9" and am hoping the kit left spring mounts and u-bolts are compatible with the larger axle tubes rather than the original rear. Thanks!

This leaf spring kit fits the Ford 9 " rear. Both the 8" and 9 " Ford rears have 3" axle tubes.
