This 3/4" O.D. DD shaft has a 1.00" long "D" design on each end. Made from 1018 steel, weld-on. Excellent for steering shafts or other uses. Order desired length.  
NOTE: This DD shaft is only milled with flats on both ends for 1" of length of the shaft. It is not milled the entire length of the shaft and therefore, can not be cut to length unless it is going to be welded to a 3/4" round or has new flats milled into the end. Please see Flaming River DD shaft if fully machined DD shaft is required. 
                                                    

						                        

							                        

                                                        These solid steering shafts are made for you to cut to fit. 3/4" O.D. 1018 solid steel shaft. Available in 24", 36", 48", 60" and 72" lengths.

Sometimes you need just a little bit more clearance than a standard steering u-joint can give you. Our double u-joints allow up to 70 degrees of angle or 1" of offset for just those occasions. Made of forged vanadium steel and real needle bearing joints.  5-5/8" overall length.
Overall length is 5-1/2”
O.D. at ends is 1.12”
O.D. in the middle is 1.476”
O.D. at caps is 1.350”
O.D. at cap retainer screws is 1.545”
Length of center section is 2-3/4”

These polished stainless steel U-joints look great and use a pinch bolt on each end for easy installation.
The OD is 1.650" (41.90mm)  
 3-3/4" in total length
This size of spline works with Unisteer's Cross Steer Rack & Pinion,  Prostock Rack, and Manual Camaro Rack & Pinion and is  also the size of manual Mustang Style Rack & Pinions.

NOTE:  These u-joints contain a safety feature that requires the DD steering shaft to be notched for pinch bolt clearance. Once notched, the pinch bolt MUST be torqued to 45 ft/lbs to ensure a tight fit.
                                                    

						                        

							                        

                                                        It's pretty silly to use plain old steel double d shaft with those shiny stainless steel u-joints. We offer this polished stainless steel double D shaft in 18", 22" and 36" cut to fit lengths.
