Will I need to modify my stock bump stops if I install this spring? If so, can you suggest a smaller stop?

These springs number 580441 will drop the front of your 47-54 Chevy pickup 3” when comparing to a new set of factory spec springs. If you have the original springs or aftermarket springs you will probably not get a full 3 inches of drop. It would be difficult to be certain on the actual drop and also the change in the bump stops until assembled.

When spring set number 580441 is installed on your 47-54 you will need to measure your existing shocks extended and compressed length and verify you have 50-60% of the shock stroke available for compression during suspension travel to avoid damage or premature shock failure. Shock length can vary on these applications according to vehicle equipment and weight.

If just the springs number 580441 are used on your 47-54 GM pickup the stock steering linkage should work without any problems. If used with a dropped axle also then steering components and tie rods will have issues along with bump steer problems.
