Yes this oil pan used in conjunction with timing cover 91017403 will use a thick front seal pan gasket such as 91010223. Sorry we do not offer the Fel-Pro brand one piece oil pan gasket.

Windage tray Will this pan accept the original Z/28 windage tray, GM part # 3927136?

Answers

July 15, 2014
EricM
The Z28 pan was deeper and did not have the welded in tray with the opening at the sump for the pickup. This pan could be altered cutting out the tray but would not be deep enough in the shallower part for the windage tray studs.

This is the basic stock type pan and on the Tri-5 Chevy's if you have the V8 steering components it should be fine. If you have the 6 cylinder pitman arm and idler arm you could have pan clearance throughout the turning radius at full lock.

Pan number 9109005 is a stock dimensioned pan and if your S10 swap locates the engine front to back in a location where specific pan dimensions are needed this pan will not be the answer. If your swap utilizes the adapter brackets and the 4.3 motor mounts then a stock pan should work fine.

Answers

If using a OEM front cover from 1957 to 1974 use a thin front seal, if using a OEM cover from 1975 to 1979 use a thick front seal gasket. Most if not all aftermarket covers will use thick front seal
