What's in the Box

No-shift columns use 1" DD u-joints, while shift columns use 3/4"-36 spline u-joints. When using the original steering box, the input shaft will need to be cut and modified into a 3/4" DD.

                        Make your 1955-1956 Chevy more comfortable to drive by installing a new Ididit steering column. These tilt columns with shift move the steering wheel back 2" while the non-tilt leaves it in the stock location. 

Uses the common 1969 and up GM wheel adapters and 3-7/8" wiring plug. Listed below are wiring adapters for the stock harness along with a floor mount. Column uses 3/4"-36 spline U-joints. When using the original steering box, the input shaft will need to be cut and modified into a 3/4" DD.

Street Rod Steering Column Drop Mount, 1-3/4 Inch Hole, 5-1/2 Inch Drop
                        

These billet polished aluminum column drops fit Speedway Nostalgia columns, Hot Rod columns, our stainless steel columns, or your custom 1-3/4" O.D. column. For these swinger style drops, the underdash nuts & bolts are included. Each swinger drop has two screws on either side that when unscrewed will detach the lower half of the mount to slide your column through.  A hinge at the upper end allows multiple choices of mounting angles.

  • 1-3/4 Inch diameter hole
  • 5-1/2 Inch drop
  • Two screws on either side will detach to slide your column through
  • Polished aluminum construction
  • Nuts & bolts are included
