The steering column is an excellent product but one way to make it better would be to have a list of Speedway steering wheels and adapters part numbers that correspond. It would make shopping a little more convenient
Yes, I recommend this product.

It is GM design column, and can use a AC Delco cancelling cam...70's, 80's design.

Most of the aftermarket steering columns on the market make use of the early 70’s to early 90’s GM style turn signal assembly and hazard assembly. There were minor differences over the years but your local parts store should be able to furnish the correct part or kit you would need. Sorry we do not have an exact make and model that you should ask for.

Is it self canceling, or do you need adapter on steering wheel? Everything fit and works fine, but I was wondering if I needed to figure out the canceling.

It is self cancelling. You will still probably need a steering wheel adapter, depending on what wheel you use.

These columns are self canceling, the wheel doesn't need anything special to make it work.

Replacing a GM column with ignition switch wiring If I'm replacing a GM column with an ignition switch. My harness is already wired for the ignition switch and is column shift too. With my setup I need the ignition and also have set of LED gear selection lights to deal with. Would be cool to have a console shift and start button setup, but I don't wont to get into a wiring mess. Got the car ... had two hours ... 5 starts ... and the column internals imploded ... DOA

This steering column does not have an ignition switch or a shifter. If you change to this column you will need to mount a separate ignition switch such as 91064052 and a floor shifter but there will be some wiring to change around.

The pigtail on your column is for a good ground. The horn has power and when you push the horn button it contacts the column which is grounded completing the circuit. On the steering wheel adapters there is an insulted plate for the horn button that the spring contacts so the lead wire in the column up to the horn button isn’t receiving the ground until the button is depressed and thus creating the ground. The horn buttons Speedway offers are a single prong and you may want to contact the steering wheel supplier or manufacturer for accurate diagnosis.

To finish off the area where the column goes thru the firewall there are some options. One that is used a lot is the ball swivel style number 4464150 and another is the floor mount plate which can also be used on the firewall. Another is a different approach with the floor mount bracket number 4462401 and mated with the boot number 4462405.
