Terrible Tolerances...

May 26, 2015
I love Speedway, but these things are really poor quality. They look good, but the tolerances on the threads are terrible. I screwed the large nut onto the fitting and after all the threads were fully engaged the nut is so loose that I can rock the nut back and forth. Not just a little bit, but a serious wobble. I can't imagine that the nut will stay on without gobbing on the thread locker or something...
No, I would not recommend this product.

Nice fittings

August 04, 2014
These are really nice fittings. Makes for a clean installation. My frame is 2" wide and I found that the fitting is just barely long enough. It'd be nice if it was a hair longer - enough to at least have a thread or two showing once the nut is tightened.
Pros:
  • high quality fitting
Cons:
  • a hair short for 2" frames
Yes, I recommend this product.

Graet product!

May 16, 2014
I am building a Pro-Street car and instead of running brake lines over or under the frame for the front brakes, this product gives your car that professional installation look.
Pros:
  • Easy Installation
Cons:
  • None
Yes, I recommend this product.

Much neater installation than tabs

February 15, 2014
Used these front and back. A step drill worked well to make the necessary holes in the frame. Use cutting oil and keep the drill speed lower than max. For some reason, it's harder than I expected to line up the holes on opposite sides of the frame -- even with compulsively careful measurements.
Pros:
  • neater than tabs
Cons:
  • can be hard to line up holes
Yes, I recommend this product.

What is the exact length? What is the exact length from the end of threads to the base where the shaft and bolt head meet? I ordered the 2-1/4"-2-3/4" before and they stuck out from the frame further than I liked. I'm wondering if I can use these instead.

This thru-frame fitting is 2 3/8" long as an under-head length (meaning the round shank and threads measure 2 3/8")

What adapter will I need to go from the -3 AN male threads to 3/8 -24 IFF that is on the hoses that came with your disc brake kit? I have hoses #617-8568 that came with the disc brake kit I bought. I would like to use the thru frame fittings but cannot seem to find an adapter for the -3 AN that the hoses will screw onto.

The hoses you have are not compatible with these thru frame fittings, sorry the adapter fitting you refer to is not available. Those hoses are meant to be mounted to a frame bracket 91031311. If you want to use these thru frame fittings you need to use AN hoses such as 91031842.

Has anyone reported having problems bleeding all the air from their front disc brake system using the thru the frame fittings?

No these fittings will not cause any issues bleeding air from your system. If you are having troubles bleeding then it is more than likely an air trap created by a line routing up and down. Try jacking the front of the car up as high as possible with the back of the car on the ground and bleed all four brakes. Then do the same only jacking up the rear with the front on the ground. If you still have issues jack the left side of the car up as high as possible with the right side on the ground and again bleed the brakes. Now do the same the right side in the air and the left on the ground. We run into air trap issues fairly often on hot rod brake systems where the master cylinder is mounted down low. This can happen to nearly any vehicle but it does seem to come up more often with low mounted master cylinders.

This fitting has a 1/8" NPT connection on one end and an AN3 fitting on the other. To connect your 3/16" steel brake line to it you'll need a 1/8" NPT to 3/8" IFF adaptor fitting of some kind.

These fitting are used to adapt to AN style lines to the calipers. Use adaptor 91031831 to use with IFF steel lines
